    thats a radically ignorant statement!
nobody on earth while driving WANTS or PREFERS to bump the wiper upwards

what you said is as ignorant as saying to someone "what the hell, you so lazy you need power steering? MAN UP!"

you confuse safety with "being lazy", a fallacy

My 10 single cab didn't have em. Only other one I've owned that didn't was my 1979 Mustang.

Windshield wipers are indeed a necessary safety feature. Intermittent wipers? That's pure creature comfort, right up there with power locks, power windows, keyless entry, etc.

Perhaps you, as an identified LEO, could provide to us civilians the vehicle code that stipulates "theyre a necessary safety feature any car/truck must have."

Back in the 70's the rear bumper and right side mirror was optional on all trucks. Base models came with an engine (smallest), transmission (3 speed manual for domestics), manual steering and brakes, heater, 2 speed wipers, vinyl flooring and seat.

Also trucks came standard with clear glass - brutal in the summer and winter both. Cars were the same back then except they did come with a rear bumper. Good times.

Slowly back away from your keyboard, sir. You still may be ahead at this point......

Really though, glad you found a suitable "fix" for your "issue".

If similar to my 2010 it's about 10-15 minutes. Undo the 2 screws keeping the column cover together, there is a tab that locks the stalk in beneath that. Gently push with a screwdriver and it pops out. Install new one in reverse order

Thanks! I dug up a couple YouTube videos and it really looks pretty simple - here's one for anyone else who's wondering:

^I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with this.

Now lack of auto lights? There's a lot of drunk drivers out there that might be doing a better job if their lights were on..

if it rains much where youre at, intermittent wipers are a necessity and safety feature :)

I agree, just kidding with you. Not sure if Toyota still has to pay for it, but the inventor of intermittent wipers, Robert Kearns, successfully sued all the automakers and his trust set up a license for each company- maybe the cost of that was part of the issue for Toyota?

The 2019 Prius LE that my wife drives doesn't have automatic headlights, but has intermittent wipers. When you are used to the automatic headlights it takes a bit to get used to using the light switch again, but it's not a big deal. Plus the car screams at you if you forget and leave them on. I don't consider automatic headlights a necessary safety feature. Having headlights, obviously yes, a must. I think the same applies to intermittent wipers. Very convenient and should be standard, but not a danger if you don't have them.

I would have been fine with the other utility package deletions but ended up springing for a regular SR since I had to have the wipers.

I find it unacceptable that Toyota doesn't include all the options of the TRD Pro as standard equipment on the base model. Fuckers.
