The 21 SR really is not missing much that the SR5 has, only things I can think of are nicer wheels which I dont really like anyways, power back window, 1 inch larger screen, and push button start.

I actually wanted the rear jump seats (like for going to lunch with coworkers or something) and really wanted the rear sliding window (would have been much more of a pain to add that after the fact). I found a 4x4 SR with keyless entry + rubber floor mats = perfect for me.

Only other thing is a leather steering wheel which is a "nice to have" for me but not necessary. With power everything, Android Auto, automatic braking, etc. this has everything I need.

I got a 2.7 4x4 access cab and the price difference was $1,790 between the SR and SR5... didn't seem like $1800 worth of stuff. The 4-cylinder SR5 doesn't come standard with alloy wheels... that's another $700ish for the appearance package, and most of them have it so the SR5 is effectively $2500 more. I might have gone for an SR5 if the alloy wheels has been standard, but not for an extra charge. The steelies are fine with me. I did really like the SR with the SX package but those have been impossible to find for the past several months.

Both my 2019 Tacoma and 1963 Plymouth Valiant have drum brakes and no intermittent wipers. Oh what a feeling ;-)

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
    Meh.

Toyota has to make cuts somewhere in order to justify having the various models.

If you put everything on the SR that comes on the SR5, then what's the point of having two different models.

And I'm not sure it's that big of a safety feature. Two-speed wipers are plenty safe. It's not as if they deleted seat belts or brake lights from the SR.

Each wiper in my SR has its own lever that needs to be manually twisted. I assumed it was Toy kitsch throwback to WWII jeep simplicity.

Holy crap this is a funny one! I have had plenty of cars that didn’t have intermittent wipers, no power windows, no power door locks, no AC, just a AM radio. Get a grip! Toyota can offer what ever they want, it’s up to you if you buy it or not! We’re not a communist country yet where you wait 4 or 5 years for a car and take what they give you.:sadviolin:

I think Toyota's site is out of date because all 2021 SR Utility Package models (including mine) have intermittent wipers.

For ever rusted toyota, i see 10,000 rusted fords/chevys. Everyone knows this is the case.

No anger issues, its purely unacceptable. Getting it fixed tomorrow however

i made no such claim,.........there is no perfect vehicle..
.....nor did i claim that a merely intermittent LACK OF wipers on a base model SR is reason not to love or buy my beloved TACOMA.

the most expensive cars on earth all have little things here and there that are unacceptable by definition .

A little and earlier than that most pickups didn't come with bumpers. They were optional. The had cheep wrap around bumpers, molded steel and a diamond plate on top.

Damn, this was such an easy mod that I had forgotten my truck did not come with intermittent wipers.

3 minutes and a hundy, such rage, many wows.

I don't use my windshield wipers. I just rain-x the hell out of my windshield and its satisfying watching rain drops bead off the windshield

Earlier today I was driving in the rain. While holding the steering wheel with my right hand, every time the windshield got hard to see, I stuck my finger forward and raised the wiper stalk up. Behold, the wipers made one pass and cleared the windshield. I was able to see again. What a great safety feature!! I guess I didn't need the intermittent wipers after all.
