haha not really. mine has a 1500 load capacity, more storage in the access cab with the utility package, and a 6 ft bed. I bought mine to use as an actual truck and I guarantee it’s more of an actual useful truck that can do more than yours for hauling stuff :)

I think it is great that Toyota offers a stripped down Taco because it means more folks and businesses on a tight budget can own a Taco and can then benefit from its low cost of ownership.

Ford is coming out with a truck for under $20k; I wonder if it will have intermittent wipers?

i have no doubt the Maverick will have intermittent wipers. i think that low price though is for sale to commercial fleets, personal versions will cost more from what I’ve read. I’ll stick with my 2019 Tacoma at $23,700 new, much better truck and value. couldn’t live with a 4 1/2 ft bed though most here likely could it appears.

My first truck didnt even have windshield wipers, one time i drove through a hurricane with a stick holding the gas pedal down while i sat on the drivers door leaning out the window, right foot steering the wheel and a squeegee in my left hand keeping the glass clean, i maintained this for over 500 miles. Back in my day men were men and you just toughed it out.

My 2020 SR has them. Maybe Nevada trucks get them, since it rains about 3 times per year.

Same as my 2021, which has the Utility Package, Toyota never updated their website.

I think I read somewhere that the new Maverick base model does not have cruise control or intermittent wipers, so it looks like Toyota is not the only one.

I’m old enough to admit that when I was wrenching I changed out a lot of points and condensers, no electronic ignition in those days.

Me too, now though I only have one very old Honda MC which uses Points. I converted my air-cooled VW to electronic ignition many years ago.

well, I think paying for a bunch of add ons you really don't need is super lame and a total waste of money. If not towing, a truck is needed for it's bed.
Manufacturers sure know how to sucker people from a $28k truck to $35k truck in a blink of an eye. No thanks, I'm not trying to impress anyone.

To each their own. I bought my TRD OR because it perfectly fits a need in my life. I take it four-wheeling often, I carry my GF's kid in the rear seat, I enjoy all the Tech goodies (I'm a Geek at heart) and I have other trucks which I use for long-distance towing and hauling.

Plus, my DD is a base F-550 with no modern conviences except for A/C, CC and (wait for it) intermitant wipers LOL! I spend 40-80 hours a week in that truck and so I wanted something a bit nicer for when I'm not at work.

As far as buying a higher-end model so I could impress people, nah that's what I ride a MC for! :bikewheelie: Here in So.Cal. Taco's are literally everywhere; our Mall's are filled with them

By "really don't need" do you mean convenience features like, say, intermittent wipers? eh? eh?

even intermittent setting speeds suck. i wish someone would come up with one where you can set the interval like tap tempo with delay pedals.

My 2007 Saab has automatic windshield wipers, turn them on and as the rain increases on the windscreen the wipers speed up. My RAV4 has the same so I know it could be done on the Tacoma.
