I've been trying to figure out if I can convert my 2013 base model Tacoma suspension into a prerunner suspension but haven't been able to find anything helpful. My truck is basically a project truck for fun. Can anybody help me out with the idea?

Is your 'base' a 5 lug?

Then no, you can't see it a Tacoma Prerunner as they are 6 lugs sans a front diff.

If your base is a 6 lug, then prerunner shocks are about the only important part you need

    welcome

by base do you mean SR 6 lug or 5 lug?
6 lug you can copy any package you want, or even get 3rd gen takeoffs
    5 lug, different ball game

damn, I have a 5 lug. I'm guessing from the responses it would be either hard as hell or impossible to do.

Nothing is impossible if you can throw enough money and time at it :D trading up is probably the best scenario for most people

5 and 6 are not interchangeable and 5 are less common here
but there is a section just for 5s so https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/5-lug.114/

and define what you mean by PreRunner(PR), they can have Sport or Off Road depending on the shocks and springs
    unless you're talking lift

definitely agree with that statement, just unsure of what in all I would have to do.

In terms of PR I mean the off road. I was hoping parts would be interchangeable but I guess not.

My suggestion is enjoy the truck as is. Especially if you have a rust free frame and modest miles for the year. Your 2.7 is a longgggg laster with routine care. I love mine.

As someone suggested, selling yours and buying what you want is a more practical approach.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
You pretty much nailed it with the Hard as Hell description.

As a Fun build project many better options.

If your close to me Wow do I have projects.

With a five lug, you'd have more fun turning it into a street truck.

Bring back the 80s mini truck look. Lowered with wide wheels and skirts.

Not really worth the effort. Prerunner configuration probably has stuff you don't need like oil & trans coolers, towing package, heavy duty alternator, etc. Plenty of things to do to your truck to get rid of any excess cash you might have.

There are available lift kits for the 5lug Tacoma's. If that's what you're looking for.
