Base Wheel Question

    I have a base 5 lug tacoma 07, and im putting the pro comp ez lift on it, it is the same concept as the ready lift, and i am keeping my base rims.... but i wanted to know what the biggest tire is that i can put on these rims with that lift....it says its a 2.75" lift.... can anyone help?

    Rims are skinny... 235/75 is as wide as you'll want to go... but be aware that you're REALLY going to feel the power loss and MPG hit. Also, your speedometer will read slow so careful of tickets if you don't drive with a GPS.

    Whats a good tire to use with this lift? Id like something tall and skinny but not look odd? still want something with a mild off road tread

    10.50 is over an inch wider... your rims are only 6" wide.

    But a 31" tire? Without a regear, you're going to hate your truck.
    I know you don't have a lot of hills in Florida... but it's seriously going to be a dog.

    I'm not sure if that'll fit even with the 3" lift. The Prerunner/4x4 is quite a bit taller than the 5-lug and they need some help to clear 32.

    my friend is selling me faulken rocky mountain A/T's, at 31x10.5x15.... but idk if theyll fit yet... the lift is supposed to allow for 31'' tires

    i thought 31s would work though....this lift is basically the same as the readylift, and this is from readylift's site

    I don't have a specific recommendation for that lift.
    My point is that those tires are oversize for the stock steel wheels.
    16x8 with 4.5" backspacing... vs the stock 15x6 with, I think, around 5" backspacing. They're going to be REALLY tucked in and will likely rub the frame or control arms.

    I had 285's on a Suburban and they rubbed the frame. A lift does not cure all clearance issues.

    Agree I'd get a wider wheel if you plan on running that tire size
    10.5" wide tire on a 6" rim is not the greatest idea not to mention the offset might be really positive on the stockers which may cause rubbing issues on the inside
    15x8 would be a better route
    Also a 31" tall tire I say is prefect but I would re gear is I were you
    On my reg cab I was running 255/50/19(29" tall)
    Mines is 5 speed but you will notice you are flying while it says you are going slow but from stop and go and you stomp it it felt real sluggish I couldn't imagine what it be like on a 31" tire
    Stock height tire is 26.85" so I'd say run them tires 15x8 and re fear and you will be happy with the results

    I can vouch for your good advice. My 2012 5 lug 2.7 came with 16 inch steel Tundra wheels and 245/R75/16 tires. The truck was a total slug with those big heavy offroad truck tires that were 12% larger in diameter than the stock 215/r75/15 wheels. They put the gearing so high that my speedometer would read only 54mph when I was actually going 60mph.

    To correct this condition I had some 235/60/R16 Yokohama high gas mileage passenger car road tires installed today which are just slightly larger than the stock diameter.

    one thing i always wondered about the tacoma is when youre putting the spacer on the struts up front, you have to cut one of the bolts down to be level with the others..... i wondered why did toyota make the one bolt taller like that? was there a purpose? or was it just made that way?

    I noticed that same quirk when I had some spacers removed from the front of my 2012 5 lug. (The spacers were no longer needed since I went to smaller diameter street tires.)

    The only thing I can think of is that the longer stud is for indexing purposes to get the strut springs properly oriented when they are being installed.
