BASHING SPACERS FOR MILD LIFTS

FWIW, I did the same thing thinking "budget" was my main factor. Well after my shock broke I went with 5100s all around. For the price of a readylift sst I could have had 5100s all around the first time. And the ride is incredible at that. Just something I picked up along the way.

 

So those shocks are breaking due to the lack of down travel?

 

Possibly. Hit a wash area real hard and fast and softened it up, heard a clunk with the air I got. Then was going up a ramp about 2min later leading with my driver side wheel and snap. I think most is just undue wear and tear for the shock not being valved for the pressure increase with the spacer if that makes sense.

Ok so spacers are a no no. What about blocks in the back? What is the best way to get about 2 to 3 inches front an back.

 

coils, coilovers adjustable shocks. NO BLOCKS. Add a leafs or a new leaf pack.

You guys finaly beat me down. Greatest apologies if I insulted anyone with the "know it all" expression. For my purposes the lift I went with works for me and certainly works for my budget. Like I said I am not rock climbing or racing Just hitting some fire roads in the woods while hunting. Had a chance to look at a lot of your rides and they all look like sweet hook ups. hmm.... I reallly havent kept up with this Thread... but I have Spacers in front, and I absolutely HATE them... Waiting for my End of the Year bonus for some LEGIT Coilovers.

OP- please dont take this as me bashing on you, I really am not. Just really not satisfied at all with the Spacer set up that I got.

 

no doubt dgalleon I know coilovers are the way to go just dont have the funds so I will deal with what I have. Not really doing any real off roading now anyway just simple fire roads and stuff. When the time is right I'll probably go with Icons, aftermarket control arms and a new leaf pack.

 

If that's still about all you're going to be hitting, you may as well just get some 5100s. Best bang for the buck and you'll love the ride
