Won't the leaf and spacer maintain the front rake?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You only need one, preferably the AAL.

Truxxx puts out a 3in spacer kit that is on top of the strut so it is not preloading the spring. And by the way toyota will cover all suspension parts if somthing breaks if you have them install the kit.

This has been discussed. The top plate spacer lengthens the shock/spring assembly, stressing the ball joints, and can possibly lead to breakage of the shocks.

    Chris,
I understand the top plate spacer lengthens the shock/spring assembly compared to factory, But any lift (spacer, Coil over, etc)except body lift has to increase in length compared to factory to achive lift.
So i pretty sure that the strut failure/snaping that have been pictured are not due the normal riding conditions but due to bottoming out the struts because the bumpstops no longer are effective because the contact point of the bumpstop is not within the struts travel. No strut is designed to bottom out.
Installing extended bumpstops should fix this?

What Chris is referring to is that top plate spacers actually lengthen the entire spring/shock assembly, allowing for more droop than the IFS was designed to handle. That's what stresses the ball joints.

Other types of lifts (preload spacers, stiffer coils, etc) do not do this. All they do is make you lose 3" of down travel on the shock, but the overall extension at full droop is the same as stock.

To add, They achieve lift by adding preload to the spring. The pre load spacers fit into the OEM length shock/spring assembly.

Ready Lift FTW..seems all this talk about spacers is for 4x4..my taco is a 2wd and the ready lift kit gave me an awesome lift. The ride is factory. I like most people will never go hardcore off roading so couldn't justify spending 800 some dollars on coil overs. I'm happy with my readylift. Also no vibrations like with other lifts.
