As was noted many times in this thread already, we aren't talking about getting $800 coilovers here....Bilstein 5100 series shocks are $182 and are a much better option than any spacer lift.

Vibes seem to vary from truck to truck. The Ready lift is no different than any other spacer lift. For that matter, you dont have to go off road to risk breakage of parts with a top plate spacer lift. Hitting a large enough pot hole, is sufficient to damage sommething....

this needs to be a disclaimer in all threads that recommend spacer lifts to folks asking about lifts...

i have taken people out wheeling who went with spacers based on "recommendations" from others who "had no issues" with the lifts...

unfortunately those folks never wheeled with us again or dropped more money to upgrade to what they should have done to begin with...

I know spaces are bad. I bought them before doing any research. I put my truck through hell and back. I do a decent amount of offroading, I have jumped the truck (a foot maybe?) And have had no issues with my spacer and stock sr5 struts.

I didnt waste thousands, and i got rid of my lame ass spacer lift! Your up travel gets fucked and your down travel is very limited, your coils become super pre-loaded and that my son results in broken shocks no matter what you hit. And i broke two of them and i didnt hit a tree stump. Mild off-roading in the desert son! The only thing a spacer lift is good for is playing hockey! You must do some seriously slow as mild off-roading, or just a mall crawler!:p For under a thousand i got myself a nice mid-travel setup and it out performs any spacerlift i have ever had!

Wow, from your opening statements I'd say you weren't just tired of the spacer slamming, you seem somewhat pissed off about it, I don't know about "all the experts here" seems most are just members that are speaking from experiences with them, if you're going to use a spacer in front, why bother with AAL's , just throw a block underneath those factory springs, but you can forget about "maintaining that factory ride, you've already altered it with the spacers, go body lift if you want that cushy factory ride. Mild offroading is a pretty broad term, what you call it & what someone else calls it maybe worlds apart & a properly setup suspension lift will avoid most of the "beating the crap out of your truck". I'll agree that if just tooling around town & going down a secondary fire road once in a while wouldn't be real adverse, anything else you'd just be asking for trouble...

Ok I give up. So much misinformation in this thread and on this forum about spacers.
    Bottom line:

    Top spacers

    Pros:
    Price
Factory spring compression= similar to factory ride

    Cons:
Bumpstops no longer protect your struts from bottoming out causing damage

    Spring pack Spacers

    Pros:
    Price
    Bump stops still protect struts

    Cons:
    Decreased travel
More compressed springs causing a stiffer ride the stock

    Replacement lift strut (coil over)

    Pros:
    Bumpstop protection
In most cases increased travel with lift
Can select the spring tension you want

    Cons:
    Price

not sure whats going on in here but i can vouch for the spacers...they suck offroad. if your truck is a mall crawler go for it but any offroading and they SUCK! ask me how i know(last pic in that collection on the first page is my truck:D )
anyone who says they "offroad" with spacers and dont mind it clearly doesnt know what offroading is becuase more than likely a shock will break
