    Hi Everyone

I hope someone can help out with this as I am looking at leveling my 2011 DC longbox TRD Sport.

bilsteins 9100's in the front and keeping my stock coils and and in the rear installing AAL and bilsteins 9100's in the rear. What kind of AAL should I look at?

Is this the right direction or should I go another way that wont cost alot more?

    any help would be appreciated.

If you use the stock coils, and you expect the front end to be any higher than it already is, you would need to use any one of the various settings on the 5100's to preload those coils. At that point, get the phone number of a good chiropractor. You'll have a harsh ride with those springs preloaded. I'd suggest spending just a bit more money and get new coils like OME, etc.....The popular choice is 885's and an AAL in the rear. I'm not a big fan of AAL's. Others seem OK with 'em. I've had a couple bad experiences with them in the past. Personally, I prefer either 1" blocks, OR, new leaf packs.

Thanks for the help. Can I get 885 coils from Toyota or can I get them from any aftermarket dealer?

Nah, sport springs don't ride bad with the 5100s. Mine are set at 1.75" on sport springs and it's just slightly firmer. Offroad springs preloaded are much more stiff than sport springs.

I don't like EITHER when they're preloaded. I prefer OR springs and NOT preloaded, OR aftermarket if you want lift. I like a nice plush ride.

Never was a fan of cranking down on springs in under any circumstance. YMMV.

Just an FYI, you can fit 265/75 r16 on stock suspension without lifting.

It still surprises me that people preload the stock OR springs. You're literally compressing the softest portion of the progressive spring. I honestly love the ride of the stock TRDOR suspension. Once I clock about 30,000 miles on them I'll probably swap out for 5100/884 coils, but IMO Toyota did well with the Off Road's suspension.

I know what you're saying, but the sport springs aren't bad at all. I didn't like when I had a the offroad with preloaded springs. Now those are firm as hell.

so it sounds like I could get away with my stock 884 coils with new Bilstein 5100 shocks in the front.

so im about to buy and I just want to make sure I make the right choice. So I had a look at headstrong and Im thinking of going OEM 885 coils with bilsteins 5100's and for the rear Im either going to go 3 leaf pack for a 1.5 lift or blocks.

Does anyone see a issue with this setup or and other suggestions. I just want to make the right choice for my truck the first time.

Nope, i'm running 887s and a single aal in the back, no complaints. 885s will give you right around 2.5in of lift if your a double cab.

You're kinda getting into a lift now, leveling just raises the front a bit to match the stock rear so there's no rake.
