Fortunately didn't need to at all. Just a couple of times to mark the frame and presto! TSB done.

In other news, my shiny new AVID stuff is now shiny black. I got a few drips from getting a bit impatient and trying to spray paint in the wind, but I'm calling them done anyway. I went with the Rustoleum fine textured stuff.

Now they just gotta cure for a couple of days and on they go!

Lol, no problem with that. If I was a serious off-roader I would have gotten the OR rather than the sport. I just wanted snazzy step bars. :) I can't imagine putting the jack anywhere not the frame.... just seems like a bad plan unless you're already in a bad enough spot you don't have a choice.

Damnit! Today, 5pm was 48 hours from spray painting. I was all excited to get them on, but it is POURING outside, and sounds like hail too maybe, so it's not going to happen. Oh how I WISH I had a garage...

ETA: Yup, definitely hail. Hail that my taco is out there sitting in.

I don't think my paint job is going to hold up worth a damn though- I managed to scrape it several times just getting everything on, despite the three day drying time and following label directions. Whatever. I start my cross country drive this weekend, they're on the truck, I'll deal with it later. I didn't have any locktite, so I just tightened them as well as I could, I'll recheck them in about 2500 miles.... lol.
