Be safe down there! That stuff is no joke. It’s going to get pretty cold here in the next couple of days but hopefully no ice:oops:

Good evenin yall! Been sitting in line for 2 hrs now to try to get some propane so i started ordering parts for the AWD swap. The plan is to use an FJ cruiser M/T tcase and im hoping i can find an R156F out of a 3rd gen to install in front of that. @jowybyo did you have to make any modifications to the R156F to mate up your FJ case? I am going to be doing an input shaft swap from male to female but im hoping its straight forward other than that. Im also curious if you have any pics of your master cylinder on the side of the trans? Im hoping mine will bolt right up and i wont have to replace that

No I didn’t have to make any modifications to the FJ case. The master cylinder is the same as the 2nd gen.

Whats the benefits going to the r156 vs the r155?

Slightly different 1st and 2nd and a slightly better overdrive. I think they also added some triple cone synchros to 2nd gear? I could be wrong on that but i think i remember reading something about that

    I don’t know if it’s a benefit, but it has a lower 1st and 2nd gear.

I think the triple cone is on the 1st gear.

Thats good to know. If I explode the 155 I’ll just look for the 156! The better od would be nice to have. I was going to ask how is your spec clutch holding up?
