    Good morning Johnny boy
I was surprised myself but yet we got a few inches! It was enough that the road was covered. I went and drove around some and the truetrac really helped in the snow, you just have to really keep your foot out of it. And good morning my friend!

Yall have a great day! Looks like the weather is going to be beautiful today

    Great manifold!

Always clean installations from you. Good theory on the problem with the trapped gases on the exhaust, especially if you ragged on it for any period of time. My re-worked exhaust now has a fourth muffler and a turn-down to weld in, however right now it’s pointing straight at the axle. I haven’t seen any issue with the axle, no soot collecting or signs of overheating metal on the casing. So I think a turn-down will be enough tbh.

Dude. You have way more snow now than we do up here. It’s been just over freezing the past few days (desperately need to wash the truck now but really shouldn’t because it’ll just look the same after 24 hours)

Lol yeah I definitely had a few WOT pulls on the hwy. that probably didnt help the issue.. Do you have any noise when you floor it? I know with my TRD Catback if i dont install the tailpipe section and leave the muffler pointed at the axle, it makes a noise when going WOT. I always assumed it was the exhaust pulses hitting the axle housing but i wasnt sure why that'd make it sound different. This little issue may be just enough to push me to learn how to tig weld. I am saving my pennies now for a welding machine.

Well, we "had" more i suppose! We got 4 inches one day in a matter of a few hrs and by the next day at noon, it was all gone. I wish it would've stayed longer but that kind of thing doesnt last long in Texas unfortunately

Good afternoon John, have a nice Monday bud!

I'd like some more too.. I drove around in it for a little while with the prerunner and it made me want 4wd. Then i remembered snow in texas only happens once every like 5 years.. Probably not worth the 2k investment..

This is actually one of the theories I have thought about recently. I have a turn-down tip to put in, which I actually think will help the loudness quite a bit. There would be a significant amount of exhaust noise being reflected off both the box of the truck, and axle (and whatever else is right above the exhaust). A turn-down points the exhaust down, but actually more or less at a 45 degree angle to the road, which means that the sound waves would reflect at a 45 degree off the pavement, in the direction of the rear of the truck, which should noticeably reduce the noise from the exhaust.

Sounds like a great plan to me! I have noticed if I leave the tail pipe off my TRD catback there is a lot more drone on the hwy. the tip/exit location absolutely has a big effect on the noise. The farther back the better, but if that can’t work a turn down might be a great option. Let me know how this goes for ya man!

I will say, on my old Isuzu pup which had a turndown pointed at the ground after the cab, it echoed and was pretty loud. Added two feet to it and turned it out the side by the tire, wayyyy better sound.

Thats good to know, maybe I’ll try to do something similar and do a side exit after the tire since that’s the case. Thanks for chiming in:thumbsup:
