Seems to be a far too common theme with their products unfortunately. I vowed never to buy another clutchmasters product after their bs. I'm sure you feel the same way after that dang TOB failed on you

Yup, they're getting a reputation now. I'm part of a manual tacoma group on facebook and lot of the third gens guys are installing the hydrobearings. Don't think they've had any (many) failures yet but I've got a feeling a flood is coming. People are becoming aware of the problems that a few of us on tacomaworld have had to deal with. That company has made a lot of money off of tacomas with no backing up of their products whatsoever.

It may be a your mileage may vary type of thing. Send it and see what happens, then report back if it sucks?

Good news is, if it sucks I don’t live far from clutch masters. Maybe if someone is inperson they will take care of issues more seriously. Fingers crossed theres no issues though.

I can say having dealt with Brian and Tony at LCE with all my questions and advice for my build so far, they're great to work with. They did say that if I put a clutch rated for 400 into my truck thats planned to make 500, there wouldn't be any possible warranty coverage.

I dont think you have anything to worry about @Murphinator

Im definitely not trying to discourage you from installing it, im with Bananaman, install it and send it and see how it goes and go from there.

I just tend to have the worst kind of luck possible, so naturally problems follow me around:oops:

I dislike supporting companies who don't support their customers. What's done is done though. I am hoping your 2tr holds itself together this go around. I wonder if the 2tr is going to be a candidate for larger head studs..

Also out of curiosity sake do you vent your crankcase pressure to atmosphere?

Me too man! I am starting to go a little crazy so itd be a big win if it would hold together for a few months or longer. If this doesnt hold together something must be seriously wrong with my truck. I am already starting to wonder if its tune related.

No sir i do not, the pcv is routed back into the s/c inlet, which is not the way id like it.. i have been meaning to add a catch can, but there have been other problems that keep requiring my attention

Well, a little update from my clutch run around. The guys at LCE called me back and said they had come up with two options for my application.

Option 1: A single unsprung disc with a beefier pressure plate than what's currently offered, estimated cost ~500

Option 2: A custom one off twin disc setup, estimated cost ~2700-3000

Brian at LCE along with his higher ups recommended the twin disc setup for driveability, as they agreed that the single unsprung disc would be unpleasant in town or heaven forbid... traffic. They think I'd get more life out of the twin disc, and they said if I decided to go that route to let them know; as they would do all the heavy lifting with clutch masters to make sure the order gets put through and done correctly.

Very interested to see what you end up going with, i'd be leaning towards the twin disc just for better drivability

Good mornin John! Have a nice Friday buddy

Good mornin Matt! Yes sir, i got the head back Tuesday so turnaround time was super quick. Waiting on the gasket and FIPG to arrive and then it's time to start piecing this puzzle back together
