Haha thanks, I'm old school in that respect. My parents always enforced proper speech and writing so I'm kind of OCD about it.

I hated the clutch on my truck at first. I felt like it was way too high in the pedal and I really wanted to adjust it lower. I got used to it and now I really like it. I haven't driven the 5-speed in a Tacoma, what's easier about it? About half of the vehicles I've owned have been manual and other than the pedal I never really noticed any of them being much different than the other. The only exception would be the '79 CJ7 I used to own. It had a 304 V8 and a freaking three speed. It was OK, I guess, but I would have liked two more gears for more options. I will say, if you were off road, there was no guessing about what gear to put it in lol - first only!

Hahah my dad had a 87 CJ7 with the i6 and a 4 speed and it was a dog! You either had to be in four low cradling in 1st or in four high with your foot to the floor!

I love the idea of a turbocharger, but I'd lean towards a supercharger in the V6 for the constant boost. Turbo lag is awesome and annoying at the same time. On the street, no problem. On the trail, not so much. In reality, I think I'll remain naturally aspirated until I figure out how to grow a money tree.

Try planting a few hundreds, I hear they're better suited for the San Antonio climate. Where you been plating them? I'll go check on them for you this weekend

Me too lol I guess hooked on phonics really stuck with me more than id like to admit lol..

I guess the only thing that's really easier about the 5spd is that the clutch engagement/release point is much more forgiving. For example if you don't get it just right with the 5spd, it doesn't really jerk you around like with the 6spd. For the first month or so after I got my 6spd, it seemed like I didn't know what I was doing driving a manual just because I wasn't used to the release points yet and couldn't get it to release smoothly like I could with my 5spd. The only other real difference I've noticed is that with the 5spd, its a much smoother feel when choosing gears, where as with the 6, you feel it kind of clunking in between them (it's still smooth, you can just feel the gears more as you select them where as the 5spd it just slides right into place). They're different animals for sure, it just seems like to me the 6spd takes some getting used to where as anyone who knows how to drive a manual could jump in the 5spd and drive it pretty smoothly.

oh yeah, for some reason, the throw from 4th into 5th gear with the 6spd is a little longer than the same one with the 5spd. I remember noticing this when I first got the truck.. Now they both seem about the same but it was much more obvious at first
