o_O  One could only wish! :hattip:

To tell the truth I really think it needs a better tune, as it has a flat spot and sometimes “stumbles”. What’s made me really nervous is making a 0-100 hard pull I saw 10 psi on the Innovate boost gauge and I personally like to stay at 9 lbs max. But we haven’t calibrated the boost gauge to check the accuracy.
Could be a placebo or maybe I was just use to the Rotrex with the massive intercooler. But I’m hoping you know of the Rotrex issues! I think if G & company would have stayed with ProCharger there wouldn’t have been any issues. The Snow water meth system helped. But the tuner has a 1# or second smallest nozzle Snow offers. The HP is lower than the Rotrex but the Torque is a bit better. I have a 5 lug regular cab so I probably benefit better with more upper end HP. Where the heavier 6 lug would benefit from Torque, especially 4x4. I know 90% PLUS owners here have 4x4’s and I did when I was younger. But I never really was into 4 wheeling I much rather use the 4x4 to get my quads to the Dunes or to the cinders in Northern AZ. Now I much rather drive to Northern AZ to ride my 23.5lbs 853 steel hardtail 27.5x2.6 MTB on the trails in the summer or my 20 lbs 853 Gravel bike on the canals in the Valley in the winter.
I know that’s probably not the answer you are looking for but it’s my opinion and if you read my post you will see I don’t sugar coat anything! I’ve been booted from a few threads because I tell the truth. Like the one on Fog lights here. Especially the DD “Back Light” lights. I paid $40 for this option and you can’t even tell the “Back Light” is even on in the daylight and I think the Rotrex supercharger is a POS!
But you have to be careful when you call out certain things on this forum. I’m to old and I call them the way I see them!
Just like *I* think the OP here needs more cubic inches (LS power cough cough, he has the skills & abilities) instead of more boost. Ive seen a lot of BassAckwards videos and I’m pretty sure he walks with a limp because he wears a lead shoe, the right shoe. Anyone agree?

Man yea i wish it was a better response because im just looking for a little more HP/Torque for my heavy SOB. Its really not that bad since im on 5.29 gearing but there are def things i could do to improve performance besides going straight to SC. I really dont want to go the engine swap route simply because i don't want to make it work i want everything as OEM and reliable as possible. Thats really the main reason i haven't changed much anything in engine bay up to this point. Im at 121k and never had an engine issue. I do change my oil every 2500 miles though lol and use mobil 1. (my truck is my trail rig and only gets driven about 5-8 times a month.)

Edit: Ive also got the truck Toyota never made.... Its a 4cyl double cab 4x4. Probably because they deemed it would be too heavy for the motor lol. Id like to get your opinion after the haltech is installed.

Agreed this thing is a turd lol. No reason to dog on it

could always remove the secondary air filter from the air box lid and the intake resonator from the passenger side fender to remove some restriction. Might help a little bit..

Oh, trust me I will! Now don’t get me wrong it helps but all manufacturers are going with less CI and trying to boost HP with FI.
A good friend is a tech that prefers working Toyota’s and imports. I was in his shop one day and someone driving a newer Ford eco-boost pulled in. Kevin asked can I help you? The gentleman said he was having an issue with the truck. Kevin said sorry sir but I don’t work on eco-boost Fords. Sorry your best bet is to go to the dealer. After the guy left I asked KC why. Jesus he went off on the eco-boost issues and off and off. He said buy the Damn Coyote engine he said pay at the pump or pay Ford to keep fixing them… Don’t ask me because I have no idea…

Alright alright. Things are finally slowing down for me enough to make another header. Still waiting anxiously to hear @BassAckwards ' impressions of his. Once that time soon comes. Giggity!

I'm pretty excited about this myself.. Hopefully the older motor doesnt dislike boost like the other one lol. I'm thinking 5lbs will be plenty peppy after riding in Mike's heavy truck though. That thing boogied!

You don’t already have an LCE header? If not that’s a great upgrade for the money. Id hold out and wait till they bring back the equal length version though

I see someone done their homework!

Excuse me for being stupid! But how is a turbo going though a intercooler any better than the Rotrex other than the turbo shaft will NOT snap in two every so many thousand miles?
Does the blower and or belt pull that much HP?
If so next in line and will list the Magnuson even though it’s looks pretty factory.
So there’s not enough room down past the header collector or that under the bed setup didn’t work.

That's a good enough reason for me, haha. Plus I can recycle most of the cold side, and there seems to be much more parts and support for turbo stuff. Not so much for SC stuff, at least in my neck of the woods.

Maybe. There is the kit from China with the turbo on the bottom of the manifold, and I think Torspd has had the idea but I don't know if any measurements have been verified. It would seem to be a good option as you can probably keep the SAIS intact and use the stock airbox. You might also need a reverse rotation turbo also so it will swing towards the manifold rather than away.

I don't have any measurements for the underslung. Was going to do a quick mock-up for testing, when @BassAckwards was last down, but Mr. Murphy had other plans in mind. So never got that chance.

@Hayrider, the turbo portfolio of choices and varieties, offers a boutique selection of tailored customization. From torque gains, low down to higher up. Flow for how much HP you are after. Change a turbine housing for response, change a size for more overall, change a spring to up and up.
