Here’s what the vvti screen looked like. Looks good to me, not what I was expecting

Also pulled the upper pan off the 05 motor. Gonna swap it on my 09 block next weekend since it has the drain bung for the turbo. New welding helmet should be in this week, then I can start mockup for the downpipe & midpipe.

    Hmmm…
What would it take to swap in a 4.0L in place of the 2.7L?
The engine w/ trans and I wonder what one would need to change for wiring?
Sorry to High Jack your tread but I don’t know where to ask this question… If anyone knows of a better place to post I will move this.
    Thanks in advance.

Wiring harness for the engine and the ecu too. I would want a donor vehicle if I was doing that type of swap

Reinstalled the stage 1 urd kit today. Gonna run it like this while i fab up the downpipe and midpipe to complete the turbo setup. Still have to swap the oil pans out, so this will help make the truck less of a dog until I can get everything else installed for the borgwarner

Well you should have more time after tomorrow? Oh, I still have that 5/16 Raybestos trans filter / Rotrex oil filter if you want it? Just send me your address again. If not anyone else want it? $Free99. I have no need for it anymore.

Replacement clutch came in today. I have a LUK 16088 in the truck right now and I was not sure how long it’d hold up with boost. My old Spec stage 2+ as well as the LCE dual comp clutch I used to have both had very bad vibrations while accelerating and decelerating in specific rpm ranges, so im going to give this one a try when the LUK gives out. This is an M-Pact 16-094-ST1X from Rockauto. I have never heard of this brand, but it’s rated for around 300tq and has 2200lb clamp force, so decided to give it a try.

Things finally slowed down at work, so that you can enjoy a weekend or two, then get to installing that turbo drain oil pan?

You raise a good point, the motor only has 275k on it:rofl:

Yeah that’s what I did last weekend. Took off and did nothing but rest. Feeling much better now though so I’m taking tomorrow off and I’m gonna try to make some progress on the downpipe. The oil pan swap is also on the list if the weather cooperates. Hoping for a productive weekend

In this photo, we had the vacuum routed to the incorrect port on the wastegate. It has since been changed to the front or top port.

I got a call from Steve the new GM then posted on the 14 or 15 that they were making another run just to see what one sells better. I posted in both the 2nd & 3rd Gen B/S/T section because it gets the most traffic & the 2TR-FE performance tread… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I literally stumbled over it on another search. I had been on their site the day before and didn't see them I even went back and looked from the main web page and couldn't find it. When I initially saw it I swore it said for 2005 - 2011. I had read where there were fitment issues around 2015 and needed a little adjustment. After too long of a day and a little liquid courage I sent it on a Friday night. Monday morning (9 days later) it showed up. If I get a weekend off in the next month I'll get it in. Yeah the price is a little steeper than I had hoped but it is what it is.

    Cheers,

    Doc
