Guys this is really none of my business but he’s sadly dealing with some family issues. Only reason I know is because we were discussing purchasing the 36k 2TR from my 07 truck. He said he was away from home dealing with a death in the family. This is really not my place to discuss.

I have discussed buying this from Mike, and we agreed on a price, I just haven’t had the time to come down and make it happen. I was hoping maybe we could do an intake manifold weekend mockup at the same time.

Got my seibon carbon fiber hood, 2015 pro headlights, and 12-15 front clip conversion done tonight. I broke one of the clips that hold the lower headlight fillers in but it’s mostly complete for now. Those pieces have already been painted and cleared so I will pop them in once the new bracket comes in. Super stoked with how it turned out though. Just need some hood pins now.

Hey I have the factory grill center section and the emblem if you want it? Just cover the shipping.
May help keep a piece of debris from punching a hole in the intercooler.

That looks fantastic even in poor lighting! Doing the hood pins is a bit nerve racking. I know this well. Take precautions and they will go smoothly.

Yeah i am dreading the hood pins, i was going to try and run it a little while without them, but damn this this flutters wayy more than the old one. They are necessary and quick because of the hood latch modifications that were made to accommodate the FMIC. I just ordered some Aerocatch 120-2000 nonlocking ones. Have any tips for the install? I need to try and get this done before 5/26 when i am heading out of town

Got the washer nozzles in today. Blue tape saved me from myself at one point lol. Glad I took the time to throw that down



Still doing some research, but I found this on TW and I’m leaning towards doing this. I might rotate the latch 90* though vs the picture. @Torspd what did yall use to cut the hood on Robert’s truck?

 

Tape, and double tape even. That litter effort saves the purity of the parts. Well done.

We used the dremel tool. I used the router attachment with a bit that is for plastic and maybe wood. It has a long open spiral flute.

 

I also highly recommend using as large of washers possible to secure the anchor. The vibrations over time do affect that thin sheet metal.

 

Well other than some bigger fender washers, the Aerocatch hood pins are installed. Took me about 5 hours from start to finish. Boy I am glad that one is over with. I was about sick over having to cut into the hood and worrying about messing it up lol. So much relief now, and don’t have to worry about the hood fluttering around on the hwy anymore

 

Nice work, that looks deadly! It's definitely nerve wracking cutting into anything auto body, especially a nice expensive carbon hood Hahaha.

 

How was the carbon to cut into? Does it dull tools quickly or not an issue?
