Disney world is fun, but yeah, I would feel the same way about not driving my truck. I love that thing! Even though I still haven't put the supercharger belt back on yet hahahahahahhahaaa

Ya... been slacking, got lots going on that's distracting me, I guess. I'll do it soon lol. But it is running well. No complaints at non-FI vacuum pressures.

Just ordered 4L of Nissan trans fluid. I'm a little overdue on the truck. $36 per liter they wanted. I don't remember it being that expensive the last time.

Ive been running lucas 85w140.. trans really seems to like it and only about 8bucks a qt. $36 a liter hurts the pocketbook!

Hmmm. How often does you change the fluid and what does the fluid look like when you drain it?

Before running the lucas i changed it every 2k miles bc it would start grinding with the redline mt90 and basically any other 75w90 fluid id run (including the nissan fluid you run). I replaced it with lucas at 67,300 miles and its now at 71500 miles and it hasnt grinded once so i havent changed the lucas yet. Fluid always looked good with the other 90 weights, but that shit just got way too hot and i think that was causing my issues bc it would start grinding after driving 30-40 minutes and it was good and hot. i will probably change the lucas out at the 5k mark and i will keep you posted on how it looks though. I dont think ill run anything else. Since im in tx i also add about half a quart of lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer to thicken it up even more.

In your cold environment id try the 85w140 but you might need to start your truck up for a couple minutes on super cold days before u leave. I have issues getting mine to go into gear sometimes when its in the 20s here. After i let it idle for a minute though, it shifts good, just feels like molasses until the truck is up to temp. This is WITH the oil stabilizer too though, you may be able to get away with just 85w140 and not have issues

Hmm yeah. I think even on super cold days it may not warm up enough for me to use the 85w140. The Nissan fluid I've been getting 5000km out of, doesn't grind ever, but toward the end it starts to become slightly harder to get into gear.

If i lived in a cold environment id probably try to mix the 85w140 and the nissan stuff 50/50 or keep diluting it with the lighter fluid until i found a happy medium. The fact that these 6spds only hold like 1.8qts is what kills them imo. Just not enough fluid to stay cool, especially when adding 10+lbs of boost worth of power

I've got the Redline MT-90 in mine and your assessment is correct. It's not very good. I'll be switching to Lucas 75W90 shortly. I haven't been getting gear grind, though.

Yeah most folks on here have praised the redline, but it just didnt work very well for my application which was disappointing..

i think the 80w90 lucas dino oil would be a great option for your truck. Anyone boosted, i would recommend 85w140 just to keep things a little cooler
