Got the greenboard up today. Only dropped one piece on my head and only drew blood twice. I'm going to do some more finishing work and I'll probably post some more pictures tomorrow evening.

Had to stop and share this one. My wife (previously mentioned, afraid of what to do if the bathtub got wet in the rain) came home from work last night as I was finishing up the greenboard. As soon as she made eye contact with the bathroom she froze. The words out of her mouth were "Woah, this is NOT THE COLOR WE AGREED ON!!!" I guess she thought I was further along...

And yet another gem...in reference to the drywall mud...

"Is that the right stuff to get?" -Wife
"Yes, that's what I need." -Me
"Are you sure? That's not what they told you to get." -Wife
"Trust me this is what I'm supposed to get."
"That says Mold Resistant, they said Mould, is there a difference?" -Wife
    "Only in Canada..." -Me

I think I'm sleeping on the couch...

I'm not 100% sure I want to post pictures of the progress I'm making with the drywall...I'm going to be sanding quite a bit in the future...

I have never seen a Robertson drywall screw either. Bugle head, or scavenger head phillips bit is all I've ever seen for typical gypsum panels. I'm a ticketed commercial steel framer. Drywall is part of my trade here in canada as well. Just saw this thread for the first time.

Bought at Menards, 5 pound box. They refer to them as "square drive". The box fell apart shortly after I opened them, and pink duct tape happened to be the closest thing...

Thankyou sir. My wife said that she has always admired the fact that I never give up, even way after when I should have.

How do you think I got the old tub out? ;)

Granted I am not supposed to run the chainsaw in the house...

And restating an unanswered question from earlier, I am guessing that I do not use the drywall mud around the edge of the tub, and caulk it instead?

So continuing my trend of wonderful luck, I have to have surgery next weekend. Nothing major, but it comes with a lifting restriction. I'm going to try to get the drywall done so I can at least paint and maybe put new towel bars up, but it will be while before the vanity goes in. (My mother in law bought me one for Christmas)

Yes, hopefully you primed with waterproof paint both sides of the edge of the sheetrock, then a very good mold resistant caulk would be the next step...

I am in the middle of my own sheetrock job, at least it is only 1/2" blue board, easy to handle the full sheets by yourself w/kicker for doing the ceilings and 45* angled walls, the 5/8's stuff is a bugger....

The vanity will be EZ compared to what you have on your plate now...

I've noticed I got a crack that formed pretty much around the whole area where the wall meets the ceiling. Is that a sign that it's time for a do-over?

crack in the mud? maybe not enough screws around the edges of the ceiling panel and it's settling? or possibly the temperature changed in the room? :notsure:
