I actually purchased a couple smaller chargers that come with eyelets to leave on permanently.

135k two batteries in 10 years and counting, The original failed at about 2 years I think a lot of that has to do with sitting at one place or another before it is shipped or sold. Some one posted that there are be 3 flood cell battery manufactures that is pretty true so it really doesn't matter too much what you buy One good trick is to pick them up buy the heaviest one.

If your Tacoma is 2 years old, take it back to the dealer. My dealer replaced my battery at 33 months free. I figure I would try free Toyota battery and go with a descent battery on my own dime. Kind of hit or miss. My Daughter's 6 year old Scion still has the original Toyota battery.

Bunch of 3rd gen Tacomas had the battery fail at 2 years exactly. Most have had no success getting the dealer to approve a new one.

Yeah I have one of them too, I don't really need them often enough. But for a vehicle that sits more than it doesn't, totally worth it.

My old neighbor was buying new deep cycle batteries for his boat every single year till we showed him the light. Now he hasn't bought a new set in quite some time.

I put a charger on my battery and it still would not hold a charge. I had to jump start it to get it to the dealer. I knew once at the dealer it would not start, so I left it running to get it into a service bay. They came back and said it had a bad cell and replaced it free. Either I have an outstanding dealer or they did not want to give my truck back when it would not start.

A good dealer will take care of it. Most DGAF.

I was a AAA service provider for about a year when I was in between careers. The average battery life in area with all 4 seasons is about 48 months. When i worked for them 12 years ago they were the biggest vehicle battery retailer in the country had the best warranty and you do not have to be a member to buy. They will also come to your house or place of work to install or test in case of a warranty issue.

I actually had the battery in my quad last 15 years...14 or 15...unbelievable I know. And the batteries in my rider mowers last 5 years because I take them out and put them in the garage where I can charge them a couple times a winter.

Possibly put these in the Jeep tomorrow.
I too like to change vehicle batteries out on a 5 year or so PM. Usually before winter so I'm not farting around with a jump start and swap when it's a 60 degree below zero day.

I hope you bought an AGM for that kind of money.

Like me and others stated, the Walmart AGM is $150. A 60 month warranty and no core charge.

I think there's something like 5, but off the top of my head from best to ok, Enersys, Deka, Exide and Johnson.

SAMs club 3-year replacement was my choice. Same as Interstate.

I recommend Odyssey. I picked up mine from a local autozone. I think they have a 4-yr warranty but not sure if that’s from the Mfr or AutoZone.

Not sure who makes them, but I've had great luck with Advance Auto Parts Silver Series Batterys.

Last one I had in my 2000 TJ lasted 6 years.

I bought my truck 3 years ago this coming Halloween, I keep one of those jumper things in it just in case.

My 2020 TRD needs more battery than came from the factory now that it has a 10K H20 winch up front. The Northstar X2 POWER 24F from batteries plus is in the lead so far at $312.73 out the door with the core exchange. But the 24F MAXX EverStart battery from Wallyworld would probably do just fine for many if not most applications at approx. $100 a piece plus tax. VERY good thread guys! And well timed with winter looming.
