And these little jewels work wonders keeping the posts clean also. I keep a pack of them in my center console for my next battery replacement.

:anonymous: I just bought a JY Power HP-40 as a secondary battery and an X2 27f for main.

I just bought an Everstart battery at Wal-Mart, if I remember right it was made in South Korea, hope the long trip over to the USA doesn't affect the longevity.

I have been trying to run this Toyota lead Acid battery into the ground with no luck. I discharge it way down pretty often between all the camping, sound systems, winching and jump starting (accidentally ran 24v though it because of some idiot who put all black battery cables on the tractor at work).

Buyer beware on any car battery you purchase from Batteries plus. I just found out the hard way today. I bought a X2power from them in 2019 but since the voltage on the battery was below 10v it is void, It is on the back of their receipt. They claim that is only possible if I shorted the battery or something else happened. I will never buy from BP again.

Batteries plus is not a great place to buy batteries as I’ve heard they try to find ways to void battery warranties. Truck batteries best place to buy them is Sam’s Club, Costco, Fleet Farm, or even Walmart … any of those are a good batteries with 2 or 3 year replacement. You can’t really expect much more than 2 maybe 3 reliable years out of battery. I’ve bought a lot of batteries in my lifetime. Its not worth the 50 or 100 extra dollars to try to get a promise of longevity. Driving habits and weather will always win out. When you get that feeling that your truck just doesn’t start right don’t wait just go buy another battery.

Looks like the OP already pulled the trigger on a new battery (read that somewhere on page 2), but who can resist the urge to provide their two cents on what battery someone should buy? Definitely not this guy!

I just replaced the OEM battery in my 2018 Off Road with an Interstate MTX-24F AGM battery, purchased at a local Interstate All Battery Center for $209.95. For what it's worth, Costco carries an Interstate 24F AGM battery (Item Number: 1421400) with almost identical specs for $159.99. Both batteries carry a 36-month free replacement warranty. In hindsight, I probably should have just driven the extra 30 minutes to Costco and bought their less expensive version, but I'm happy with the new battery. I did end up having to order a new hold down bracket/hardware kit from Amazon as the OEM hold down would not hold the battery securely.

I went the same route for the MIL in her RAV because she was having continual battery issues with the OEM junk the dealer kept using. Not a peep since = money well spent.

The 24F AGM 710 CCA sealed battery from Walmart is very appealing at approx $150. So is the 24F EverStart MAXX 750 CCA wet battery at approx. $100. It is a win-win choice with either one IMO. I really don't think my 2020 TRD OFF-ROAD Tacoma 4x4 with 10K X20 winch would have any real preference between the two. And I just don't see any real need for a $300 plus battery in this Tacoma. But I do sometimes carry a spare sealed battery in my '97 Taco hunting truck/mud machine for those seriously buried in the mud occasions.

EDIT: I almost forgot to mention that I do have a $30 Noco Genius 1 charger/maintainer/desulfulator for use on all my batts. And it works great!

I've bought walmart batteries in the past for my tractor, and boat, and they've been good, but the last 2 i've owned from them have been crap, not even lasting 2 years. I've always bought deka batteries when it comes to my truck. Their one good battery. Had the last one over 10 years and it was still working fine when i sold the truck.

Batteries have gone up in price since I last bought one. I ended up buying a 24F from Walmart for $50 less than others with similar CCA and warranty in my area. First time for me to try a Walmart battery except for my yard mower. I'll see how it goes.

I've had good luck with Duralast Gold (5 year warranty last one I bought). Get the 27F size, it will fit and gives good power. My last one was 4 years old and froze solid in -25 degree weather and still cranked the truck (2.7L first gen, not sure it would have handled the 3.5L on the 3rd gen). I was commuting 3 miles at the time and it had been in the -20s for over a month, so treatment that would probably kill most batteries.

There are certainly better batteries, but for convenience Duralast it pretty good.

Odyssey AGM like every car I own, replaced the factory battery in the first month. I hit the terminals every year with fluid film, everything still looks new.
