I am going to make new battery cables for my truck. Does anyone know off hand how long the positive cable is?

Well for one, it would be nice to know how much material I would need to buy, BEFORE I took the old one off the truck.

take a tape measure and roughly measure. or get a string and follow the cable then measure the string.

x2. Quicker to measure then writing this thread. But I guess if you don't know how to use a tape me sure then I understand.

Maybe you did not understand the OP's question. He did not inquire on how to measure a battery cable. He asked if anyone knew the length.

I think you mean he is indirectly asking someone to measure theirs. :)

Most likely. But that is one of the main reasons these forums exist, is to share information.

In the course of my reading on this forum and others, many people have mods in progress. Someone could have an engine out of a truck or a spare cable lying in their garage. It would be much easier to measure a cable lying on your garage floor, that crawling under the truck.

Well I am currently deployed and I need to order the cables so I can fix the truck when I get home. Hopefully this is a good enough reason to get some help. Thanks to whoever can measure or knows the length.

Oh I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being serious. Maybe you truly don't know how to use a measuring tape, I don't know if you can or can't. Just because someone can do something, doesn't mean the other person can. We all have different levels of experience. I was in no way mocking you.

I am running a optima now and I need longer cables. I was hoping someone had done this already and had the length of the cable. This way i can add a foot and that is what I will order.

    Thank you

Both main cables are about 3 feet long, so buy 4' or longer lengths to be safe.

It's hard to tell without removing the looms as they both 'y' into different paths..... and I wasn't about to undo the looms.

I am working on my 2nd gen kits, so if you are willing to wait a couple of days I will be able to give you exact lengths. I will be doing this first of the week.
