The charging system light was on this morning on my 2005 Tacoma. I drive about 5 miles before the highway. Once on the highway, the light went off, then a minute later on, then quickly off again.

I took the truck out for lunch and the end of the day without the light come on.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

The light usually means the alternator is not charging the battery. Have everything tested.

Please see Section 5.2 in the Car and Deep Cycle Battery FAQ on www.batteryfaq.org for more information on vehicle charging system problems.

Change in temperature always kills batteries that were on their last legs. One of our work trucks crapped out on Monday. It's been warming up here this week.

I was just trying to catch up with unique responses for those who continued to look for answers to recurring questions and common battery problems.
