Nothing magic about Toyota batteries. Same process for all vehicles.

However, if you have excess corrosion you need to determine if it's something environmentally weird going on or if your charging system is misbehaving. Typically I only have to do a bit of cleanup every 3-4 years. Sometimes never during the life of the battery.

Along with everything above, grease or battery rings cost a buck or two. I’ve had no battery corrosion problems during many years of using them.

Get terminal gel protection from your local auto store, it has a vasiline like texture that acts as a protectant and can be fully wiped off when you want to replace your battery.

What's the purpose of those rings? And also do you grease the terminal or hust the connector?

Those red and green anti corrosion rings to slow down the battery terminal corrosion. Keep an eye on your terminals nonetheless.

Yeah I'm here because I noticed my positive terminal was completely covered in it. I attempted to clean it but it was baked on the terminal. Going to replace it for a new one but I don't want it to comebacks, these rings should make the difference?

My car was terrible for battery corrosion, it would literally destroy the cable it short order. Tried all the chemicals, sprays, and washers and they did absolutely nothing, installed an AGM battery and the problem instantly went away and never returned.

I used the new WD -40 specialist contact cleaner and It worked as intended. Terminals are all clean on the battery .

I take mine into a local trusted shop to do everything. Only got 10,000 miles on it but so far 2 oil changes and tire rotations -
I noticed they also clean up the battery terminals while it's in there - nice touch - I'll keep going back to this crew they do good work.
