Battery corrosion

My truck only has 15K whith no electric modifications so I'm a bit surprised my positive terminal looks like shit. I do live in 110F summer weather maybe temp plays a role?

 

Some people use dielectric grease on terminals to protect from corrosion.

 

I'm in AZ so I feel your heat - and it could be - but mine look clean and shiny cuz the dudes who do my oil changes cleans 'em up I suppose.
I know they do something as there are 'prints' all around.

 

Clean up with wire brush and baking soda solution, let dry, then spray with white lithium grease. Done and doing well. Cost around $2 CAD.

 

I did my Camry with baking soda and vinegar. Brushed it with a wire brush and applied the red and green shims and the grease.

 

When to AGM 3-1/2 years ago and looks a lot better,(and spray them also)

On that note i have AGM on all 5 of my vehicles now

 

What brand AGM did you go with

 

Let hope the rings work and the spray prevents future corrosion

 

Duracell 24F AGM From Samsclub. Basically the same as a Duralast AGM from auto zone but was $40 less at the time (Gray battery)

You could have dropped them in vinegar maybe for an hour or so and it would have came out really clean. Did that with my Camry and came out looking more copperish.

 

I soaked it in terminal cleaner and I did notice the copper coating the top coating was burned off .
