I bought my 2014 new in May of 2014. When I was in for a scheduled service in mid summer of 2016 the dealer replaced it under warranty. I had about 25,000 miles on the truck at the time, and had not had any sign of weak or failing battery. The service manager said it tested bad.

It really depends on many factors but heat can be rough on one but so can extreme cold. My GM vehicles always had great batteries on them. Our 01 Suburban battery lasted 8 1/2 years and was still good when we traded it and our 09 Traverse battery was still good when we traded it almost 7 years later. My 12 GTI battery is still good. For us, we get at least 6 years on literally every battery. My last Taco battery on my second gen only lasted 4 years. I'm not sure who makes the Taco batteries but I'll stay away from it when my third gen battery goes down.

I just replaced the original battery in my '09 a few months ago. It was still doing ok but "seemed" like it was getting a bit weak. Dealer checked it and said it was ok but I went ahead and got a new one during an oil change. I had a coupon for a discount and got a new "7 year" battery from my Toyota dealer.

My 09 had a build date of 7/2008. Bought it new 5/2009 (almost a year on the lot, not much demand for a 6sp manual 2wd in NC). Replaced the 27F with AZ Gold 27F in 12/15 at 60,000 miles. OEM went dead with no warning, can't complain about the service life. Tow Package with bigger alternator may have helped with battery life.

I joined the club tonight, 15 minutes before the store closed, luckily I was in the driveway. Got a jump and drove there, had to be the easiest battery I ever swapped. They stayed open a few minutes for me to install. Factory battery just quit, no warning, but I knew what the problem was. Mine is a 13 model, with 58,000 on the clock.
