I will look into that as well. Good idea.... Has anyone heard of a fuse box going bad in a taco?

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
unlikely unless corrosion has gotten into it. you can split the box to inspect the wiring on the inside.

    Another thought...
Did you jump start anybody or have anybody jump start you?
Sometimes that can cause issues with the electrical system??

I know it sounds too simple, but I'd try swapping out the battery, or seeing if you have another one you could test with to eliminate that. When my stock battery "died" it did all sorts of weird electrical stuff, and the battery was still testing as fine. I had my horn honking, lights flashing, alarm going off, and random clicking. Once I put a new battery in everything was fine, battery would've only been 2-3 years old at the time.

You were spraying water into the wheel well area of front driver side when this happened? I spay my wheel wells with a high pressure gun and nothing like this has ever happened. It's a coincidence or there are some details missing.

I agree, A bad cell in a battery, even a New Battery will trigger this light to come on
some times it comes on and goes out and back on again....

Ok. Great tips- I replaced the battery today with a brand new one, no change, so I returned it. Haha. Now. I think I might try another alternator tonight or tomorrow, would you guys suggest waiting and getting one from Toyota on Monday? They told me that there’s was even “remanufactured” and it was $388!!!!!!!!!- But the battery light isn’t JUST to tell you the alternator isn’t recharging the battery right? Something else could be wack? Like a bad cell, Like too much load, or out of amp range, blah blah. ? And yes I was spraying the inner wheel well when it happened. And yes. I know. I’ve done it hundereds of times too. That’s why it’s really blowing my mind, And I was almost done, I had sprayed the entire truck off and sprayed the underneath of it really well......don’t get me wrong.......it could be just a coincidence that it happened when I was spraying the front drivers side wheel well.......I just knew the relay box was right there... And i even opened up the relay box (lid was on it) and there was 0 water in it. But the alternator was wet for sure though. Ugh. Keep ya posted. If anyone has any other tips please keep em coming. Thanks for your time guys. It’s much appreciated!!!

PROBLEM SOLVED. So the problem was, there is a green harness that plugs into the alternator........ it has three wires coming out of it, and the white wire was broken about 7 inches into the harness. (Right where it loops down, then back up and I think it held water in it and corroded). The wire is used as a “sensor wire” to tell the ecm that the alternator is indeed charging the battery......... so if all else fails and you’ve tried two alternators, two batteries, and all the fuses and relays.....then start pinning out and checking continuity and voltage in the wires- Thank you guys! Time for more boost!

Just some dumb regular crap everyone else has
Glad you found the issue, and more importantly, glad you kept everyone up to date on what you found. I hate it when someone starts a thread and people respond to help and there's no conclusion from the OP. Sorry I couldn't contribute anything worthy to this thread, but still glad you were able to fix it.

Can you change the title to something that's easier to search for, please? This is great info that will be lost forever because the title isn't specific to the subject.

    Thanks!

"Battery light on" would be a good option.

Excellent idea- I’m all for that. Thanks again to everyone for the help- every little thing helped. Now it’s time to haul the “street car” to Georgia for “Lights Out 9”. (With the truck you guys helped me fix)

Wordsmithing here but consider replacing ‘Help’ with ‘Solved’ in the thread title and it’d be more accurate.
Thanks for posting the problem and solution!
