Hey all, searched around the forum and wasn't able to find specific information on this so I'm posting here.
I'm looking to upgrade my battery terminals to fastronix milspec while adding my new battery and I will be cutting the stock connectors off and attaching new 3/8" lugs to both the pos and neg; however the negative cable has a ground connection spliced to it that goes to the fenderwall and when I cut the oem terminal off, the ground cable will separate. What have you guys done to replace/upgrade this short curly ground cable? and what is the size of this cable? Any input will be appreciated.

I just reused the OEM cables and soldered a new terminal end.

Are those the SDHQ terminals? And also, do you know which gauge the ground to fender cable was? I would guess 6 or 8AWG?

They are. Love them, completely worth it. I think it’s 8 gauge

I don’t, I sometimes think about making one.

SDHQ. They are kind of pricey but worth it.

And the main battery cables are 2 gauge correct? Just making sure I order the correct lugs

definitely helps, thanks for your input. on a side note, do you recommend a certain kill switch for my winch and how to wire it? I bought a blue seas on/off selector that I was going to mount under the hood, just wondering if that's the best way to go about it. thanks again

I dont have any experience with those. They dont seem like something that is super useful, IMO.

I guess my only comment would be whatever switch/ relay you get, make sure it is rated to break more than the maximum amount of amps your winch can draw under full load

I built a plate out of 1/8 inch alum plate. Bed coated. Blue Seas switch and fuse for aux devices.

For your winch you can get a manual breaker, keep it off when not in use and close it when using the winch. Install close to the battery.

Yes. Basically the same thing I installed. Mine goes On1, On2, On 1&2, or OFF.
