I did a search prior to posting, which led me to want an Interstate Battery....but its not available for our other vehicle so I was just hoping for quick feedback.

Wife just tried taking boys to school in our 07 Ford Edge SEL. Wont start, turns once, and then nothing. Its the original battery so I am guessing thats the issue. As I searched on here for battery recommendations, as I mentioned, alot of peeps like Interstate. That apparently is not an option for our Edge via Interstates website.

Can anyone recommend a good cold weather climate (WI) battery? Seems everyone hate AAP, AZ, and Oreily buuuuuut thats kind of everything near us. So personal feedback would be rad and appreciated.

Do you have a Costco membership, that has been a decent battery. There is really only a couple of battery manufactures that everyone puts their company sticker on. Thinking about it I believe interstate and costco are made by the same company. Anyway give one of the Interstate dealers/costco a call, more than likely they have a battery that will work.

Thanks JD. We do not have Costco membership. Called my friend at Ford dealer and was informed of a Motorcraft promotion they have going on in Dec. $119. And it has a dealership backed 100 month gaurantee + 3yr warranty and dealer towing if it fails (towing is kinda hokey since pretty much every auto policy has towing)...had oil change in Edge scheduled for tomorrow anyways. Got it in yesterday afternoon and had it taken care of. Hopefully a good investment....

Fords come with a bus pass in the glove box. Should be on the last page in the manual.

Everyone's got their favorites, but ive never had a problem with any battery ive ever installed. When i buy i make sure its fresh per the date code. In my older cars i would even throw in walmart maxx and never had issues after many years of heavy use. A fresh battery and a charging system up to snuff, good to go. Now when you get into people with toys and accessories, thats a different story. But for the mall crawler, throw anything in.

    My $0.02

And also, thats the original battery from 07? Throw the same one in.

    ^ This.

3-4 years ago I went to Consumer Reports and read the most recent battery testing at the time. The Costco brand of automotive batteries was their top tester. And, they got me a battery for a 2005 Camry for cheaper than anyone else could. It was a win-win!

As @Just Dandee stated there are only a couple of battery manufacturers who make all the brands out there. In a winter climate "Cold Cranking Amps" is the spec you should be most interested in when comparing.

I'm not much of a fan of Auto Zone, but their Duralast batteries are 1st rate! The top of the line is their Platinum, but the BEST is the Gold.....They actually honor warranties if you need that!

I actually had an Autozone Battery in my Mustang for 11 years before I gave it to my neighbor to put in one of his cars.

I have never had a nin-self inflicted problem from the many walmart batteries I have bought for cars motorcycle s and lawn mowers.
For me, it seems my battery always dies when I can't go to a eegular store, but 24 hr walmart is there to save the day.

    Too few to list.
Have a Home Depot nearby? Some sell Exide car batteries. I didn't know this until last month.
