I have a 2016 and don't have any electrical accessories, yet. However, this morning my battery sounded like it was getting week. I am looking to replace it, but looking for recommendations. In the past I replaced other batteries in other vehicles and i've had issues.

For a 2008 Mini van I bought a replacement at Sam's. Manufacturing date was recent at the time. Battery went dead in a year. They gave me a replacement, it last 3 years. Both Energizer batteries.

2004 Tundra replacement bought at Wal-Mart. Don't remember the brand, lasted 3 years and bad cell.

So, looking for a 5-7 year reliable battery. Yes, I do see a pattern of bad batteries bought from Wal-Mart and associates (Sam's Club). Any recommendations?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
My local Costco has Interstate batteries with free 36 month replacement and prorated out to 60 months for less than $100. That’s where I normally get them.

if you want to go hi end look at the Northstar batteries but that will run you north of $300 in most places.

Costco. Interstate under $100. You do the swap and give them the old one.

For all my vehicles and boats I’ve always bought either Costco or Walmart batteries. Never any problems and they have all lasted at least 5 years. At 5 years I replace my battery. Over the last several years I’ve gotten my batteries mostly at Costco and they have been great. The batteries I previously got at Walmart were also good batteries. My batteries cost about $100.
You can buy the $300 or $400 batteries but there is no guarantee they will last any longer but they may have a longer warranty.
Battery threads are like oil threads. There are a zillion of them and everyone has their own opinions. You get lots of varying opinions but in the end the threads and opinions are mostly useless and you won’t be any more enlightened than before you posted. Good luck with your next battery.

I usually go with Advanced Auto since you can always find a discount code online. There are only a few companies that actually manufacture the batteries, everyone else just white labels them and has them made to their spec.

Look, I have a $119 Walmart Everstart bought 2.5 years ago…has been run down so much needing jumps because of not watching my smartphone charges, along with using one of those 12v food warming pouches, that it’s probably down to 56% capacity. Yet it still recharges fine and cranks me up if I drive for awhile (moderate climate). I see no reason why I won’t get maybe another 2 years outta it. Granted…I got one that wasn’t a turkey. I’m never gonna invest in a battery costing twice as much. If I didn’t get a flawed battery to begin with, why would I pay so much more? Fingers crossed of course. So far, so good.

For me it had to be local, so Auto Zone won. Got almost 6yrs out of first one, so I got another. Duralast 3yr and they change it in minutes. OEM one only lasted 3.5yrs, so getting 6yrs I was happy. They now have one with 100 more amps, 810amps.

I fully expect the same adequate performance for the next 2 years not having paid 2.5 times the price of my Walmart EverStart Max. Paying a lot more doesn’t make sense to me, even if I had the money, which I don’t. Don’t go overboard in your expectations and considering buying a $245 battery, even tho you have the bucks to do so, at least not for a Tacoma.

I third the X2 Power AGM; great battery. I went 27F with the 2nd Gen battery tray, and SDHQ battery tie down.
