My original battery lasted about 6 years, and I replaced that with the Advance Auto "Silver" battery (not their more expensive "Gold"). It's been running strong since, and my 2008 truck is officially 13 years old as of today.

But I'm a Costco member, and will probably look hard at one of the Interstate batteries. I put one in my TSX, and it failed after 2 years, but Costco gave me a "no questions asked" swap, and that battery has been going strong for 3 years.

I’m on my fourth battery on my 2014 Tacoma. OEM battery lasted about 18 months, got it replaced on warranty. OEM battery dies again around 18 months, dealership won’t warranty so I upgrade to AGM 31M Northstar and it died 3 years and 5 months. Learned the hard way it was out of warranty since the Marine battery is only 3 year warranty from North Star which I thought was a 4 year warranty, my mistake. Still a little disappointed in the AGM battery barely lasting the three years but I have the 27F from Costco since it has a great warranty and is not $350 dollars like the Northstar 31m. I will eventually will need to switch back to the 31m when I start adding the fridge and electrical goodies back in the truck, but 27F is fine for now. I hope the Costco interstate battery lasts longer then 18 months :)

Bought a Group 24DC from Costco this summer with a 0720 tag. Some people think that's the build date. It's the ship date.

A few months later I needed an extra 24DC from same place - 1120 tag.

The newest one looked smaller(and it is) and felt lighter. Weighed about 5.5 lbs. less than the one I bought this past summer.

My '06 Avalon's 24F is a little over 4 yrs. old. I may replace it before summer, but it may not be a Costco battery.

Some people are all giddy about Costco batteries because of the Interstate branding, a brand I've never been all that impressed with.

The good thing with the Costco battery is they will swap it out if it fails under warranty...no questions asked. Just bring it in and they'll give you a replacement.

I know this is heresy on TW, but, my original True Start 27F battery is 6 years old and is going strong. If you shop around, dealers sell them for under 140 bucks, 84 month prorated warranty, 2 year free replacement.

My wife’s Altima Costco Interstate battery failed in less than a year, at least Costco has a great return policy, but I really have no faith in the interstate.

I’ve heard these batteries are quality, but they have limited availability. The other option is Duracell Car batteries, which are made by East Penn and sold at Battery+ locations:

trickle chargers are for vehicles that see a lot of inactive. Not much use for a vehicle driven daily for any legit distance/speed
