The OEM battery terminals are cheeseball. Yes, I'm gonna call them terminals. Other people can call them whatever they want. The marine terminals are much more substantial. A chunk of lead with a pinch bolt and a threaded stud. There are other aftermarket terminals that are even better, but you can't buy them at your local auto parts store. The positive is a direct swap. The negative is a little more involved.

Nah. Pour a small pile of baking soda on each terminal. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes. Hose it off with a garden hose. Done.

@euroshowoff It’s your truck. You can do whatever you want, but those terminals were barely adequate when they were new and the only electrical draw was the truck. You now have a lot of electrical demand from all your added on equipment and the cheeseball terminals are compromised by the corrosion. These are the terminals I use and they’re NICE.

You can call them terminals all day long, but you're using the wrong terminology and confusing people. Terminals are on the battery, you're talking about battery connectors or cable ends or clamps, not terminals.

Well, technically the positive connector or clamp is a terminal and the negative connector or clamp is a battery cable end. The positive connector or clamp has a threaded terminal post that the positive cables attach to. The negative cable is just a cable. I'll still stand by the fact that the factory (whatever you want to call them) are cheeseball.

And by your definitions, this is not a ring terminal.

Those are fancy, do they still get all nasty like the stock ones. On all the vehicle's I've owned I've never seen so much corrosion on a battery. I even coat them and they still corrode.

I'm no expert on what causes battery cable corrosion, but I suspect the cause is a leak between the post and the plastic case. I have those terminals on a X2 battery with brass posts. They haven't been on there very long, but I suspect that the X2 AGM battery is far less likely to corrode the terminals.

For your average run of the mill lead/acid battery, I really like these anti corrosion pads.

I did the same, AGM 24F to save weight. If you use dielectric grease be sure to smear that on AFTER making the connections.
