Battery replacement. Terminal orientation?

    Yeah I use those also, still corrodes. battery is pretty new too.

    Back to the OP, yes clean those clamps , terminals or what ever thoroughly. Those are way nasty. If you don’t clean (or replace) you’ll find at some point your truck won’t start.

    I have to agree. Terminal is what’s attached to the end of the cable. The round thing on the battery it attaches to I call a post. Not that it matters all that much, until you ask to purchase the part and call it something wrong. I still call a facial tissue a Kleenex.

    I believe corrosion is also caused by gases released from a wet-cell battery. Not a significant issue with AGM batteries.

    I have always wondered why the positive cable always corrodes a lot more than the negative cable.
