It was just a couple of weeks ago, and you know how badly the search functions on these forums sucks.

Just go to Costco and ask why they don't stock them anymore.
You'll likely have a shorter wait doing that.

My red top is going 5 years strong. I don't know of anyone, personally, who has had problems with one.

I have the yellow top in my truck. I let the truck sit for a long time. When I tried to charge it up, the charger stated it had a bad cell. It would start the truck, but my charger would not charge it. I returned it, it was still in the three year warranty and autozone game me a new one...

I believe this Optima battery issue was more of a Red top problem yet I could be wrong about this? I had a redtop in the Tacoma for 3 years without issue but recently switched over to a Yellow top for its deep cycle capabilities and all is well after a year now even with winch use.

I like the 3 year warranty. I live in the hottest spot on earth, Phoenix Arizona.

I'll report back any issues ... I've NEVER got 3 years out of any battery ever.

I read all those reports prior to buying and still bought it. We'll see.

Consumer reports rates the Sears Diehard Platinum the highest for longevity and CCA, the Sears Diehard Gold is second. That is where I will go when my factory one gives up the ghost.

Still got the OEM battery that came with the truck when I bought her new in Sep. 08. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

'06, 97,700 miles and I am still on my factory battery. It just recently started getting low, it takes some effort for it to start my truck. Sometimes it actually will be to low to start. Took it to advance and their tester says the Batt's 100% dead, the alternator is good though!

I know back a ways Optima were solid batteries, doesn't look to be the consensus today. :( Looks like Die-Hard/Duralast Platinum is the way to go?
