Panasonic OE, yup. Mine lasted 10, my wife's Rav4 11. Both are kept outside year round.

They sure did, I got almost 8 years on an old 86 Mazda PU before selling the truck and it still was kicking.

My 2017 original Toyota battery still is in service.

I bought this Interstate battery new in 2003, it was working fine just a few weeks ago. It was in an old truck that sits around mostly. Don't know if the new ones last as long, usually I buy Deka.

Yup same results with 2 of them in our vehicles. My wife's just was slow cranking once and it jumped just fine. In theory it "might" have been serviceable still. In reality, with it being cold weather season and with her working a couple of nights till 9pm or later, it was cheap insurance just to replace it anyways. Little did I know until after doing the swap that it was 11 years old.

If your OEM lasts that long why replace it with another brand .

I just don't get it when I see comments like "I'll replace my battery when it dies". In the grand scheme of things, a new battery is going to run you $200 tops; much less for a run of the mill 24F lead acid one. For those of you who attended government schools, that works out to $40 bucks per year if you buy a new one every 5 years. When you hit that 5 year point, do yourself and everyone else sharing the road with you a favor and buy a new fucking battery!

Your vehicle’s alternator can keep a healthy battery charged, but it was never designed to completely recharge a dead car battery if the unit in question reads below 12 volts. Using the alternator to deal with such a depleted battery can actually damage your alternator. This is because it has to work overtime to fill up the battery while also dealing with the energy needs of the vehicle itself, while the vehicle is running. It’s also possible to hurt the battery by undercharging it in this way, making it less likely to keep the charge that the alternator puts into it.
With a seriously depleted battery, the best thing to do either before or immediately after a jump-start is to connect it to a dedicated battery charger. These charging devices are designed to feed electricity into a dead battery at the rate necessary to safely and deeply charge it without causing any damage. Most of the time, you can even connect your battery to one of these chargers without having to remove it from your vehicle.

When doing maintenance I try to remember andput the charger on the battery, most of my vehicle batteries last 8-10 years.

    - Some chain stores have a better battery warranty (i.e. fewer hassles if you need to get a replacement) than the dealer.

    - The factory battery isn't necessarily the same as the Toyota-labeled ones sold at the dealer parts counter.

    ehhh.....just skip the nonsense.

Get yourself a 6 pack of 12Vdc power tool batteries. Hook these up in a parallel configuration. Probably only need about 6 to develop enough Cranking Amps to start the engine. Every night when home from work, pull the batteries out, place on chargers. Or have a second set in the chargers to just do a simple swap.

This way, no worries about acid, charging the AGM, weight. The bonus is all the power tool batteries use Li-ion chemistry in the cells. Then you can say you are 1 step closer to an EV.

And wasn't there just a thread about this a couple of days ago. I feel like there was one but at the same time it was a Holiday weekend so I enjoyed a few more drinks than I usually do.

I don't know why it's something you need everyone's approval for. If your not out boondocking then any starting battery of correct size will do

My last 2001 tundra delco battery came up just short of 10 years. That truck never saw a day inside at my home. In fact every toyota i've owned for at least 7 years never had a bad battery before selling it.

That is what I just did. OEM battery took a shit this morning 6 weeks after my truck warranty expired. Love my Audew 2000 battery pack.

Yes sir you are correct. I started a thread about which to buy. A AGM or a flooded cell battery.
Sorry we aggravate you with such petty drivel. Have the best day you can.
