@prone2xl I know it's several months after your post, but the few potential problems are:

    1. The material of the inner heat shrink has a lower temp rating than the outer heat shrink. The risk here is that burn the inner heat shrink while shrinking the outer. Burned material introduces carbon which is conductive rendering the inner heat shrink ineffective.

    2. The inner heat shrink is epoxy lined and the epoxy reflows when heating up the outer heat shrink. That would in turn allow the inner heat shrink to move. This is less about performance problems and more about visual/workmanship problems. But your sample looks pretty good.

    Nothing. Just got it.
Opening up this thread as I was hoping to figure out which wires you bought and used for the mil spec terminal swap.

The job should just be: two new lugs for positive cables, one new lug for the negative cable, and a whole new cable for the ground, correct?

Did you replace the whole wires, or just swap out the connections? Cheers

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
It comes down to what you decide .

If your cables have been upgraded all ready just crimp on the new lugs

If not go for new larger cables I use1/0 welding cable I get short sections free.
