Battery went bad, friend has an extra one sitting and wants me to take it

Hello everyone,

I own a 2012 tacoma (base trd off-road) the original toyota battery went bad and i need a replacement.

My current battery it: 00544-27 F60-710 (710 CCA 165RC)

Friends battery: BAGM-48H6-760(12V 70Ah 720A 120RC)

Would it work and not cause any problems?

Does it fit in the tray and can it be secured?

 

yes it does but the specs are different.

Ordinarily, I’d look up the sizes for you.
But I currently battling the flu. So I’m off my game.

 

The new battery has a little less reserve capacity. Not a big deal. Super simple explanation, think of it as how much “energy” the battery can store.

Again, no big deal. Toss it in.

 

lol, all good brother! I just got done battling the flu. I guess i should have put that in the post, it does fit but my main concern is the spec difference. The battery capacity is fine but what im worried about is the 70A and RC values

 

ok, my concern is that i have lights and a winch, is the RC that big of a difference for that?

 

Not a real issue if the truck is on. The alternator will take over.

You’ll have about 20-25 less battery life with the new battery. (Truck off)

I’ll will say, I’ve taken it pretty well.
It’s been fairly mild compared to the only other time I ever had it.

The only other time I had it was like 20 years ago. That one kicked my ass. This one isn’t too bad. I mean it’s no fun. But it’s not an ass kicker.
