Needing a new battery was thinking of pulling the trigger on one this weekend was seeing what everyone knows about the EFB batteries vs an AGM battery I know AGM batteries well as I put them in the boats I work on everyday and know they hold up well.

I vote for a standard battery and have gotten my last battery from Batteries+ because they carry Duracell car batteries, which are made by East Penn Manufacturing. East Penn Manufacturing has an excellent reputation and have chosen them over the Interstate made batteries available at Costco…I usually buy everything I can at Costco.

On the contrary, I always buy interstate after the factory battery dies.
Never had troubles starting in these below zero WI winters w/ Interstate.

Well I'm wondering on the battery being I have a ton of lights on the truck and have full power ran from the battery to the bed as well to power a fridge freezer so needing a good amperage battery I've been told by several to either go with an AGM OR EFB battery

Lots of people have gotten better than usual performance out of the tru start brand from Toyota dealerships. When I bought mine, it had one in it. It was well past the standard 5 year mark but still passed load testing. When it finally died I replaced it with an interstate.

The last Toyota tru-start got several years of use until it started leaking from the caps. I was tired of cleaning up battery acid, so I replaced it with a 24F AGM Everstart from WalFart and a battery strap from offgridengineering.

4 year free replacement warranty and they only cost $170 give or take.

It's been solid with aftermarket lights/stereo/arb twin, ect. About 4-5lbs heavier than stock and still fits the 3rd gen battery tray.

I'm assuming it'll fit just fine in a 2nd gen.
