I HAVE experienced PUBG, quite a bit actually, and it's absolute dogshit

 

I still think pugb is a good br they just kind of take two steps back and one forward. It runs like ass on my xbox but its pretty solid on the pc.

on console you might as well play radical heights, realm royale, or h1z1 and you have an equivalent to pubg. yes, it looks better on pc, but I don't play pc.

I'm a PC guy. I find 30 FPS frame rates hurt my brain so I'm done with consoles. It's also fun being able to turn things up or down depending on what you want or need to see, it gives you more control of your experience. Nothing beats high resolution, high frame rate, and high frequency refresh rate gaming in my humble opinion. It will be interesting to see if the next gen consoles can actually push over 60 fps over HDMI to 120 hz TVs, I kind of feel like it won't actually happen.

Hit me up if you ever want to Apex Coop, I play with a few locals and some non locals lol. I'm not a crazy good rank or anything but we seem to win every 4-5 games no problem. The games so fast you forget losses quick which is nice.

I agree it would be sweet if some more BRs ran a solo mode. That being said a lot of the balancing in a good BR seems to me to be dependent on the team balancing. An okay team that works together can stomp a skilled player who doesn't help his teammates. I kind of like that. Team games also seem to discourage camping to some degree. Nothing is worse than the kid in PUBG who finds a grassy knoll in circle and wins playing JFK simulator.

As for PUBG... PUBG was fun with friends but the inventory system was and still is absolutely horse shit. Games like Apex you spend your time actually fighting, moving into better positions, and figuring out ways to win. You know, actually having fun. PUBG should be called loot simulator. You spend more time in that game, picking up crap while bobbing around to duck headshots like a whack a mole and playing in the menu, than actually doing anything fun. Play solos and some Chinese hacker wins most of the time on PC. Play teams and you play thirty minute rounds for twenty second of good contact. That's not fun, it's punishment. Don't get me wrong, I was pretty good at PUBG right around when the beta ended, but the couple of times I've tried to get back into the game have nearly put me to sleep.

 

Well said. If I could afford to stay in pc gaming or had more gaming time I would. But I can pay 4-500$ for a console and game for 8-10 years. Can’t do that with pc. I used to pc game back in high school but friends always had better computers and better internet than I did and it just made games not fun. Console everyone is basically on the same level, but I do wish resolution, FPS, and everything was improved. Maybe one day.

 

Consoles have come a long way with tech, you can pick up a xbox one x for 300 bucks now, good luck building a pc for 300 bucks

I did most of my gaming on consoles as a kid. They've always been cheaper but I'd actually say the gap has tightened now. An Xbox X is basically running games as well as a $700-800 PC, that's not that big a gap. Back in the 2000s a classic Xbox was $200 bucks and could compete with $1.5k PC on playability. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pulling out the PC master race card here, but it's hard to argue that PC isn't the better experience if you're willing to pay the higher entry point cost. If you're not you can still enjoy most games on consoles if you don't get headaches like I do just fine.

My point of mentioning PC was more around PUBG. I have a great PC and it's still warm dog shit, just my opinion. If they maybe revamped the inventory management and attachments system to be fluid I might be a little more forgiving but for now it's janky as fuck and you spend too much time in menus bouncing around over playing.

Of course some games are just better on consoles too. Poor PC ports happen way too often, Anthem and RDR2 I'm looking at you.

Two years of lifespan on a PC would be on the extreme side. Good $1.5K builds should hold out for 4-5 years now adays. That being said it's an addictive hobby. If Sony/Microsoft have their way the days of console parity will end with this generation. The new consoles supposedly support variable refresh rate TVs and likely a keyboard/mouse. If that happens paying more to play better will transfer to consoles as well.

There is. Sadly, they actually have scientific studies showing an advantage at 144 hz over 60 hz and it's bigger than you would think. If they allow 120 hz displays on consoles, right now they don't support it over HDMI, than the parity will be affected.

 

My PC bois need to hop on the Tarkov train and come play with me. It's lonely raiding by myself all the time.
