i recently notice this dent on the top of my forehead, like when you wear sunglasses on your head. except i wasnt. then i remembered one time i was doing the brakes on my acura integra about 20 years ago, and was getting something out of the hatchback, which had some failing gas struts. i was bent in the hatch and stood up suddenly, catching my forhead on one of the corners of the hatch. so hard it split my forehead right open.

i butterflied it with some athletic tape and finished my brake job, so i could drive myself to emergency. i think it was 4 stitches. but probably would have been just fine with the butterfly.

This didn't cause an injury but at a place where I worked, a coworker was welding a steering knuckle (the caliper wore grooves in it, Jeep).
He was welding and there was a tall drain bucket underneath (he sprayed it with brake cleaner before welding to remove dirt/grease).
I was walking past him and as I was right behind him, I heard what sounded like a mortar. A spark from welding dropped into the bucket and caused it to explode which knocked him into me and the both of us into a work bench. NO INJURIES

Around 10 years ago I was assisting a buddy who was beefing up a utility trailer by welding braces off the tongue and frame corners. I wasn’t doing the welding and I thought I was looking away while he was burning away. 5 or 6 hrs later I could barely open my eyes and it felt like there was sand in my eyes. I have done much damage to my body over the years but that flash burn to the eyes is a pain that I don’t think I will ever forget.

Ooh i got one for this. and you're gonna laugh at how stupid it happened hahaha. Was putting on bed stiffeners and when screwing back down one of the bed bolts, it wouldn't go in the same. came to realize that one of the crush washers underneath had somehow gotten resprung, and then stuck on itself when i tried to screw down. pulled out a rubber hammer to beat it flat so I could screw everything in properly. Of course me being an idiot, I was holding the washer with my index while hammering on it. Last strike, smashed my finger straight on but also managed to flatten it out. The below pic was taken about 30 secs after it happened, and it only got darker for about a week until it scabbed up under the skin and i slowly picked at it for a few days.

No injuries for awhile other than the occasional busted knuckle but I was changing out the cv shaft on my x wife’s 2014 Ford Fusion and found myself in the perfect position to take a face full of atf. Got it in my mouth little in the nostrils kids were laughing their asses off at me it was nice lol.

The act of rust being removed isn’t even too bad, at least pain wise. It’s the next 24 hours that absolutely blow cock because your eye just hurts so bad.

Nothing too bad. Did spray myself with shock fluid years ago when changing seals on motorcycle forks. Mostly in the face and shoulders. That sucked. Never punched myself. Haha

I had the same surgery on my non dominant shoulder, only needed 3 anchors though. Hard damn recovery, a month immobilized, 9 months of PT. Need to get my other shoulder done but after that recovery process I have just learned not do anything with that arm above parallel with the ground.

This is true. Also, trying to shut the eyelid while the rust is still embedded is also.

Mine was my dominant hand and Ive earned the nickname Mrs Squiggles because.. that was what my signature turned into with my left.
Ditto. As long as it stays in the socket I can put up with the pain and range issues. My husband is doing the same with his, his impingement and issues came back several years ago and until he cant lift a mug of coffee he refuses to go back in. That sling/pad shit sucked too. Billed $300+ for it and they couldnt add a little more padding for the neck? I ended up shoving a towel under it. o_O:D

This was the evening I had the surgery.. high as a kite:rofl:

Got lucky on the heal, too. Just a little mark on my thumb at this point, at the knuckle.
