Looks like we're going back to World War One which hasn't been done much lately. I was skeptical when I first heard it was WW1 but after seeing the trailer I'm pretty excited. Due to release October.

 

It's battlefield , on the frostbite engine and the same team who made bf4, they better hit a grand slam. Hard-line was a joke and star wars battlefront sadly flopped

 

Yeah but Bf3 is an all time favorite.

Haven't played cod in 4 years. Battlefield had been my crack since 3 came out , cod will be a thing of the past one day, nothing but 12 yo kids talking shit in cod, got old really fast

 

I think this difinitively shuts down whatever CoD nonsense I saw last week with that future super soldier alien invasion shenanigans.

I'm excited for BF1 too as they said the zepplins and battleships will be fully controllable. Sounds nuts!

 

I still play bf3 every now and then, but the servers are outdated lag city.

I stop playing cod after mw2, which is honestly when cod became annual cash-in piles of shit. They are remaking cod4, which is and was the best cod ever made. However you have to buy infinite warfare to get it.

 

I agree MW2 was the last of the good CoD's. I had actually not even played any Battlefield games until MW3 came out and I got sick of it. Since then I've been hooked on Battlefield. Just got to rank 130 in BF4 haha.

 

Another scam to get more money , cause I would only want the cod 4 remake, I think cod world at war wat the shit !

I'm glad for the old WW1 theme. I hate all the futuristic crap. I'd love a Veit Nam era game.

Vietnam would be cool, as long as it was true to life. There was rumors that Battlefield 1 would be WW1 alternate history (steampunk theme) but they are doing a true to history WW1 which is rad.

 

I felt that the cod world at war was the best but haven't played cod in years. I wish console came out with a more tactical military game play. But BF1 looks interesting

 

This could kill the current trend, which I hope does. Just watch as this game gets a better turnout than IW, the only reason IW will sell is for the cod4 remake.

I did think about buying it, keeping the remaster, and selling the new shit- still contemplating it.
The good is that cod4 will look completely new for current gen consoles
The bad is that it will only include 10 original maps for multiplayer.

What makes the Battlefield franchise better than the COD franchise? Legitimate question. I come from playing some of the COD games (currently BO3) and don't know what i'm missing out on. Gameplay? Storyline? Graphics? ...etc. Would have no problem switching to another FPS (although I have Doom waiting at my doorstep today).

 

The biggest difference has always been map size and vehicle utilization. COD is run up, 10-12 minute rounds. I've been in open servers on Battlefield that can last for two hours.

BF also has more "types" of gameplay on privately owned servers on all consoles and computers, where COD is straight forward FPS for the most part.
