COD has brainwahed the majority. They have the fan base and will not be going anywhere anytime soon due to that fact. Until the players wake up and boycott their reskinned games. Killzone 2 altered their gameplay after launch to cater to all the COD fanboys that bitched on the forums about how you can't do this and this shouldn't do that. The main thing they want is the camera on a stick effect where you can turn in an unhuman way. If a guy gets the drop on you and starts firing on you from behind their is no way in this world you should be able to spin on a dime and get a shot off to get the kill at the same time (unless of course said person has extremly bad aim). Killzone as an example was trying to add the weight to the gun to be more realistic in respect. With the movement and how fast you could swing it around. But with the millions of COD players why strive to be different and innovative when you can shovel the same shit over and over again and make tons of $$$ doing it.

But COD got to where they are from their first installment which was awesome. BF series and BF3 are just as awesome in their own right. I didn't buy Black Ops and I dont plan on buying MW3 unless something changes in their formula with the new team developing it.

    BF3 on Oct. 25th can't wait!!

I honestly feel as though this is like every other closely matched debate. Each side is set in their ways and will not budge an inch... COD fanboys will do their thing, and so will the COD haters. No matter how much people want to bitch and moan at it, at their primal levels, they are equals. Each have little nuances that will distinguish them from the other. Personally, I never bought Black Ops cause I thought it sucked. And so did World at War... I won't buy it just for the Call of Duty label. So... Okay rant over

My buddy ditched MW and swears by battlefield now. I'm sticking to MW3 and already pre-ordered! I enjoyed the hell outta MW2 on xbox, but gonna get MW3 for PS3. Hopefully there's no difference with the systems.

i think the only difference you are going to run into is updates and DLC cause in my experience xbox gets them way before PS3

That was one of the many last straws for the COD franchise for me...I played WAW, MW2, and Black Ops. Black Ops was complete shit...terrible graphics and gameplay. I still play it oddly, but just because my cousin only has that game since he converted to PS3. I have BF3 pre-ordered on PC, played the beta quite a bit and I'm pretty stoked to see the final product. Official end of my COD phase :D

Same here, but stepped back a few gens. I had the original call of duty for PC and played the heck out of it. I ended at World at War cause I felt like I was playing the same arcade game over and over again. I've played Battlefield games since 1942 came out and they are by far my favorite.

I got to play a bit of the beta and I loved it. There are several things that set Battlefield above CoD and really any other FPS I've played, the two main pluses for me being destructability and audio. The sounds in this game are the best out there right now. I though BFBC2's audio was killer, but they have stepped it up with BF3. The destructability is a HUGE game changer from previous games; If you play the game like CoD you will die quickly every time. I smile and maybe giggle just a bit whenever I blow a hole in a wall with my grenade launcher and immediately switch back to my rifle and fire five or six rounds through the resulting hole and kill the guy that thinks he can camp in Battlefield. You can't sit in one spot in Battlefield for more than 30 seconds, you will die. Let me rephrase that; You cannot kill me in game and sit in the same spot for more than 30 seconds, or you will die. The maps are too big and varied and give people sooo many ways to get from point a to point b that you can be killed from 30 different places if you sit in one spot. CoD is like---"run down this alley, turn a corner and fire! Run down that alley, turn a corner and fire! Crouch in this corner, wait for someone to run down this alley, and fire!"

One more thing I enjoyed about the beta is the guns don't seem to be as accurate as BFBC2. That could change once people play the game more and figure out the best firing rhythm for each gun but for now it is more realistic for me, because IRL (conjecture here) I don't think most people can hit someone 50+ yards away with every shot of a three round burst, like I could in BFBC2. I know I couldn't. That also gives me a chance to enjoy the audio more in both situations; hearing the gun fire if I'm shooting at someone, and hearing bullets whiz by me and plink into the concrete around me if I'm being shot at.

I'll stop there, I probably wouldn't read all this if I didn't post it, but I like talking about battlefield so I get carried away easy.

Audio and graphics both seemed good to me...I read that the beta isn't as good as the actual game will look. I played the beta on ultra...may have to bump it down a notch if it's too intense! I will note that BF3 is definitely more focused on strategy and objectives than COD. I did some defense on flags while playing Caspain Border and actually had a lot of fun doing it. So many different terrains and player classes...you never get in the same situation twice.

I got BF 3 preordered for my birthday. I have always been a COD fan but recently started playing BF and love it. So I most likely won't get COD but I'm sure it will be bought by my brother shortly after it comes out.

With the fear of sounding like a fanboi - I apologize. But since BF3 is coming out, Bad Company 2 should be cheap. I recommend you pick it up and give it a try. It's seriously a fun game because of the destructability and vehicles.
