this is exactly why i just avoid regular mode all together. I only play Hardcore. I shouldnt have to relocate everytime I take a shot with the sniper because i was "spotted" and am visible on a minmap.. or my location is found via kill cam. i agree.. kill cam is ridiculous.

I enjoy taking camping recon dog tags with my trench knife. They just lay there and take it - lololololololol

I only go recon to use the SUAV against other recons.

I don't remember my rank, I do like to see how I rate against others. At the moment I an in Division 1 of recon competition, so up there with the top dogs. I am FAR from the best of course.

I do like to take a lot of time finding other recon from the enemy and picking them off at 1000 meters. Some maps are not conducive to recon, so then I switch to engineer and drive vehicles, or just run around and die a lot. I'm not that good at FPS, hence the reason I do recon.

I typically play conquest. I am not big on Capture the flag, deathmatch, or carrier assault.

Dead on Bill!!! Spotting! I have plenty of spotting ribbons already. I checked stats last night and I have 800-something kills with the SRR. I just finally got the GOL so I'm sure I'll stick with that for a while.

On hardcore gameplay - I saw a vid where someone was playing a sniper with iron sights. They're believe was they may not have the range but the lack of scope would not have the glare to give away their position to enemies either. Not sure how I felt about that since it could lead to more camping but this is just a game right?

    Just have fun

If you guys want a more hard core exprience you should check out Arma 3 and DayZ. Pretty addicting when your creeping around at night and someone rolls by in a car no other game even comes close.

OK, I just watched the most SICK video of a vitual FPS. This group took a simulated 360deg projector screen, XBox 360 tracking unit, an AWESOME moving floor (again, 360 degrees of movement) as well as multiple paintball guns, and created the SICKEST full=immersion version of Battlefield 3. It is from a year or so ago, but AWESOME.

The concept was to make a video game like BF3 into as realistic a game as possible. You can't compare a video game to paintball. Apples, oranges there. You can't deny the serious work that went into that.

I guess you have a right to your opinion. You do realize that gaming, and porn are the two largest financial driving forces of computers and technology? Computers would still be in the stone ages if it wasn't for those two things.

No disagreement there. I love video games. Probably more than most. I just leave the video games to consoles and computers, and the "scenario" play to paintball (my other major hobby)

And.. Idk.. the whole "lets make a war video game as real as possible so people don't have to get off their asses and actually serve" kinda bothers me.. for our serviceman like yourself's sake.. as I have the upmost respect for you and what you have done. I didn't even serve, and sometimes I feel like a douchecanoe running around in my multicam and my paintball gun. It does make it better when my Brother (Army vet) is playing with me though. im all for tactics, and realism, i love it.. but when it goes to that extreme, just seems like.. for lack of a better word.. a slap in the face? Disrespectful? Its like when I hear kids playing fucking gay Call Of Duty calling out call signs and making strategies as if they are actually fighting and know something. its like.. "ok guy, you've watched too many war movies, you probably couldn't even get through bootcamp ya fatass". Get off the couch, stop playing imaginary war hero. Have some respect. Idk.. Guess I'm somewhat of a hipocrite..but I also don't play like Im fighting to save my country from my couch. I play because its fun. Yes with tactics and strategy.. but that's how you win games, its a team game afterall. Some people just take it too seriously..

Anywhoooo.. needed to rant. Rubs me the wring way i guess. Sorry to bring down the thread boys. Game on! :oldglory:

No worries. I can see and respect where you are coming from. Perhaps you would be interested to know that the military is actually using and working on improving similar systems to train current military tactics in a semi-realistic setting, using video games as well as computer simulations. This is used to measure a soldier's reaction time to stimuli, and their "accuracy" of fire. The military GETS these simulators and programs from software and hardware companies that make systems similar to this one.
