Bay Area Group Buy: Heavy Metal Off-Road bed bars (2nd/3rd gen, various heights/customizations)

Hey everyone,

The feeler thread gathered quite a bit of interest, so here's our official group buy thread for individual bed bars from Tim Neil at Heavy Metal Off-Road. Tim is a one man shop based in Livermore and he's done most of the work on my truck, so I can personally vouch for his work quality and customer service.

The bars are 1.75" DOM steel. The price is $65 per bare bar. Semi-gloss rattle can finish is $25 per bar. No mounting hardware included, but it's simple to find T Slot nuts and 3/8 bolts/washers.

Tim has the measurements already for 2nd Gen trucks, he'll be getting measurements for 3rd Gen trucks this weekend.

Bars are offered at the following heights:

• 6"
• 8"
• 16.75" (around the top of the window)
• 18" (around the 3rd brake light)
• 20.5" (cab height)

Tim can do tabs for RotopaX mounting plates (like mine below) or any other sort of tabs. +$25 per pair of tabs.

For this group buy, we're only limiting to local pick up. If someone really wants them shipped, let me know. Lead time is 4-6 weeks after the group buy ends. The group buy ends on Friday 3/17.

I don't really want to be THAT guy but...I would like three cab height bars with rotopax tabs, and painted, but I would need shipping. I've been looking for something like this for a while but I couldn't find anything available. I need the bars to be independent so I can remove the back two, put my dirtbike in, and then put them back on. You can ship them to a FedEx location like Pelfrybilt does if that makes things easier/cheaper.

Zach, don't worry about being that guy. Tim isn't against shipping. Just shot him a text, I'll keep you updated. I can understand why you want them; I'm not sure why no other fabricator is offering tall individual bed bars.
