Bay Area Tacos

So what's the latest recommendation on tuning? I reached out to the two contacts for OTT in Sac and Merced and they quoted me $450 - 500. I didn't really care about tuning too much but very soon I am going to get Group 31 AGM batteries so I guess I will need the tune for the alternator to crank up the charging voltage. Anyone has any other contacts or recommendation for other tunes that they used? In case if it helps, my Taco is on 35s with 5.29 gears and carrying a decent amount of dead weight all the time. This is not my daily driver but I hit the trails almost every other weekend though.

 

Did you end up getting the tuning done by him? I saw on his IG that he did Stellar Built's Taco so I am guessing he is legit.

 

I know I am 3 years late but Union City here as well lol. If you ever drive next to Shaffer's you probably seen my red Taco nearby haha.

 

I have the cvc tune. They're located in san jose.

 

Yup, CVC tune and loving it. Chans the man, he’ll get you right. Once you get the tune, it’s free re-tunes lifetime (if updates come out, bigger tires, etc)

There’s a cars and coffee in Novato tomorrow morning at the Vintage Oaks shopping center. It would be great to get some more Toyotas out there. I’ll be there in my 3rd gen 4runner. Come by if you’re in the area.

Here's a funny pic. Two weeks ago we were detained by the Tecate border patrol officers for bringing in too much dirty trucks to US lol (I believe it was agriculture risk due to foreign mud which we honestly didn't know). Luckily their agriculture officer wasn't around so they let us go after we promised that we will clean our truck the moment we get back home .

Lesson learnt: Never bring dirty Tacos in US....

 

I figured it was someone who works at Shaffer's OR and just decided to plant down roots close to work, lol. Nice build. Does anyone mess with it on the street?

It's creepy if you stop and take pics. On one costco return trip, I did see a kid standing in the #1 lane snapping pics of it when it was parked on the street.
