Thanks Go Blue that will be option #3 and I'm no longer SOL if I can't get it to fit!

I'd rather not raise the seat because I think the darn seats are already too high! I'm 6' 2" and so are a few common passengers....seeing out (and around the roofline) is already a challenge!

You probably sit farther back than me or have the backrest reclined more than I do.......or I have a freakishly long torso/neck :)

The tacoma is plenty comfortable for me I just have trouble seeing stoplights when stopped at the line and the sun visors are useless to me...if I flip them down I can't see the road!

Yeah if the red lights are high in the sky, then I have to duck.

and same with the sunvisors. Cant see the road when there down. So I just get a better posture

I'm not familiar with the term pancake (I'm not an audiophile), but if it's the same as a shallow mount the smallest mounting depth I could find was 3" with a .3cf sealed enclosure. That won't fit under the seat (w/o some significant modification), but there are certainly places you could mount it and not have it take up much room.

Well they make them to where all you need to do is put blocks or stilts under the seat to make room for the sub. I think its a good thing to have but it can get missed up very quickly.. especially if you go to the beach alot. (sand, rocks, etc.)

I was surprised at how much room is still empty behind the headliner. Close to three inches in some spots.

Hmmm, sounds like a job for some closed cell foam over some mat deadener. Gotta keep it quiet in there!
