I just install the Newest BD throttle sensitivy booster in our 2019 tacoma v-6 auto. It take ten minutes to install and at 100 % its a rocket. It has 6 settings from low to 300 %. I just got back from a 100 mile trip in all kinds of driving. 100% launches really hard so i ran 50 in the city and 75 to 100 on the open road. Going up hills is now a breeze no more shifting down two or three gears to stay at 55. It shifts hard and fast now because the throttle is telling it to .

You could save yourself some money and just smash the pedal on the floor.

Doesnt it just amplify the voltage of your pedal input?

Yup... just like a Pedal Commander. I installed a PC on my Colorado. There was no way I could drive it in Sport+ mode, because the tires would break loose at the slightest hint of throttle.
I don't disagree that they'll make a crappy transmission feel better, but it's not the best way to solve the problem. I also found that the "learning" transmission seemed to eventually figure out
a way to fight the PC.

The pedal is already very touchy when rolling slowly in 1st gear, I cant imagine any more throttle response would be good. I do wish the response was better when rev matching though, I have learned to mash the pedal over the years. Works 80% of the time, haha.

Don’t they change the throttle tables too? For instance, it wouldn’t matter how fast you mash the pedal, the computer is only going to open the throttle body at whatever max rate it’s programmed to do so. I thought these products override those parameters and changed how fast the throttle will open based on the pedal position and the rate of pedal input. So in theory you wouldn’t be able to replicate it just by smashing the throttle more.

Also, why is iDrive not popular here like it is in Australia?

The only thing they do is modify the throttle input sent to the ecu. So essentially they have a multiplier so say what would normally be 10% throttle is now 20%. Or 50% is now 100%.

you can also do the reverse or somewhere in between. It’s essentially changing the pedal sensitivity is all. The ecu remains unchanged, it’s just thinking you are doing more or less input from the pedal.

idrive and a pedal commander and this thing all do the same thing. They are just slightly different ways of adjustment. I can see the appeal in come instances but I feel most people don’t actually understand what these things do

The other thing to note, if you are tuning, you can do this same thing adjustment natively without having to piggy back. It just isn’t adjustable on the fly. If you have more linear throttle control, it really eliminates the need for these all together.

    this and that...
bought the OG sprintbooster the other day. its pretty awesome. lag is completely gone. i change it on the fly and you can see how much of a slug the 3rd gen is when ran with no modulation. and its not cause motor or trans or anything like that. its the damn drive by wire system that were relegated to. does it add hp? no. does it get rid of the inherent throttle lag that ever single one of you here experienced at one time or another driving their 3rd gen? absolutely. i set mine at sport9/race5. and i hear you on just pressing down the gas more. its simply not the same thing. stomping the gas doesnt make your throttle open anymore quickly. sprinbooster enables that to happen. i dunno, to me it was worth the money.

So how are they getting rid of the throttle lag then? Just multiplying the input wouldn’t change the delay time.

I know nothing about it, but I agree. Without cracking the ECU it impossible to modify tables. All they're doing is highjacking Inputs to reduce granularity and increase sensitivity
