Theres so many ways to manipulate electronics. Think about frequency drives, u can modify Ramp up and ramp down, (like Tig Welding), Shorten the "upslope" and u get reduced "lag". Idk I could be way off base haha.

Yup but it sounds like they aren’t doing that. They are just multiplying the signal.

I wanted a vehicle w/ great performance, so I bought a Ducati and I drive that when I want to make pretty much anything else seem slow.

Sometimes though, I need tons of power and speed isn't useful. I recommend Kubota. I can pull a car in half with mine, guaranteed.

When you're doing midsize pickup truck stuff, I find that a Tacoma does that pretty well. Grabbing bales of hay, lumber, or heading to higher country for camping or climbing...a Tacoma is hard to beat.

I get the impression that a LOT of Tacoma owners bought their Tacoma thinking it was something other than a pickup truck. I don't care how many 100s of thousands you throw at a pickup truck, it's always going to perform like, and be, a pickup truck.

In my fucked up head it's akin to modifying upslope. Stock would be, Pedal moves 1/8" Throttle plate moves = 16%. With this Gizmo, 1/8 = 32%. It's just highjacking the inputs to the ECU.

Because on the third gen there is dead spots in the stock throttle control. It ends up getting washed out. All the tables are posted in the tuning threads and the visual helps it make a lot more sense seeing how the throttle ramps and also how that correlates to shifting and other tables.

Gotcha. So there isn’t a time delay? It just ignores the first portion of the pedal stroke?

    It's not Linear.

Correct. It’s the tip in of the throttle response. So for example (just making up numbers) the first 0-20% of the pedal is only 0-10% to the ecu. Then once you hit 20%-25% pedal it’s actually 10-20%. Then 25-40% is 20-40%. You get the idea. It’s not linear.

So you get unpredictably and sudden bursts due to the scaling.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
Still doesn’t explain why Toyota tunes this transmission like this.

We aren’t talking about transmissions here. But either way, the answer is the same...emissions.

Fuel economy. People with twitchy feet will see better mpgs and they're not stomping it off the line all the time.

Except those would be considered "ecu" level.

These pedal commanders are more like setting the pot on the vfd the 50% but it actually being 100%

Just set that FLA and OL current to max, ramp up to 0 seconds and burn that baby down to the ground.

I put my truck in gear and let it idle away from the stoplight, then I pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor. Wow!!! That was amazing, it was like adding 278 HP!

This sounds like whiskey throttle. Minus the throttle of course

Because of the ridiculous gearing that’s pretty much all I do is stomp on it.
