I don't like the blind spot over my driver's side shoulder. The pillar of the cab is so wide that it blocks out 30 feet of space at one lane over.

There's been times that I use the mirror and even look hard and still I can't see the motorcycle in that spot.

I'm going to install a convex mirror within my main left side mirror so I don't end up plowing some poor bastard when I pull on to the freeway someday.

Love my truck but I do have a few things that annoy me.

    1. That surge thing when I stop
    2. Having to use a hose clamp to keep my tailgate
    3. No locking gas cap
    4. The paint....I've got about 20 chips in my hood already.

Of course if I had to list all the things I like it would be a much longer list.

Hey Pathetic! ! Where are the paint chips at on the hood? On the leading edge and would a hood protector help?

    Thanks

    1. Illumination, illumination, illumination.
If the domestic car makers can illuminate the switches in most of their cars, why can't toyota do it in a truck that goes for almost 30,000?
    2. Cargo lights and underhood lights.
All the domestic makers offer this on most of their trucks. How many times have you been driving behind some fool who had his cargo light on? My 88 s-10 had an underhood light and a cargo light!
    3. Cab height.
I've got to get into the truck like a crippled old man, everytime telling myself to watch my head. I'm wondering if the cab needs to be raised or the floorpan lowered.
    4. More options.
I for one would like heated mirrors, a heated spot on the windshield to keep the wipers from freezing, better radio options, better wheel and tire options, more exterior color options, make all region-specific optiona available everywhere. I shouldn't have to search thru California toyota dealers to get a truck with VSC, DAC and side airbags.

The overall design of the clutch pedal. I need to keep the seat closer than I would like. May try attaching a block to it.

I agree with ability to play MP3, aux jack, heated mirrors.

Power slider would be nice I have an access cab and I have to jump in the back to open it.

There all in about the first 6-8 inches of the hood so a deflector may have helped but I think the clear bra probably would've been the best choice to prevent them.

I agree with that. I don't understand why certain options are only available in certain regions... You buy the truck/car and finance it for up to 5 or 6 years. What happens if you move to an area that needs an option you couldn't get? (Say they made heated mirrors an option in the north, but not in the south.) Now you're screwed because you decided or had to move before getting a new vehicle. Or maybe you travel and need those options as the seasons change. I could understand heated mirrors not being STANDARD in places like Texas, Florida, etc, but why not make it an option people could pay for? People that KNOW they'll be driving in areas that would be useful in.

    list in no order:
    1) fog light mod. required
    2) forward surge at stop
    3) no heated side mirrors
    4) no locking fuel door
    5) junk bfg tires(poss. cause of the steering wander)
    6) TSB build-a-truck
    7) thin paint
    8) free diff. until locker is engaged

    3,5,6,7 & 8 are :eek::mad:

AMEN!!! As for the guys that modify their jeeps. They should have bought a toyota.. I think us toyota tacoma guys have it good. My buddy has a wrangler and that has got to be the most uncomfortable ride I have ever had. Im 6' 1" and I feel like the dash is up to my chin and the doors are up to my shoulders. It feels like your sitting on the floor of the thing. I am just happy to have a tacoma. I dont need bells whistles. I dont need a heated coffe holder, or a voice activated radio or any of the happy horse crap. I love my truck.

Nont only can people get in them easily but they are noisy as hell! Yeah if you want to commit a wrangler to striclty off roading then they are excellent for that but to drive them everyday is miserable.

Yeah, I wouldn't feel bad about getting a cheap used one and cutting into it to weld in a roll cage, exo, take the doors off, roof off, etc. And when all is said and done you can hose off the inside. I'd NEVER hose out the inside of another vehicle!

Why wouldn't anybody hose out the interior of their Tacoma?

My 05 tundra cost as much as my Tacoma so I wish it had some of the same feature's Heated mirror's, bed light, 4x4 switch lit up, locking tail gate, one more 12v out let that's about all I really want That should add much more to the price of the truck if toyota was willing to do it.

My buddy at work just bought a 08 Colorado, I know, don't laugh, it's a crew cab 4wd. Fully loaded, plus a few dealer installed extras. Extras in the way of cat back exhaust, 18" chrome rims, tonneau cover. Heated seats and mirrors and turn signals in the mirrors. He didn't know if the heated seats and mirrors were factory or not. It looked factory, especially the switches for the seats. All for the otd price of 26 and some change! All of the switches inside light up at night, too. There were two sets of sunvisors as well, the main one with the slide out and another one almost as big underneath it. Total glare protection. Now if Toyota could only do this with the Tacoma. It can't cost that much spread out over x amount of trucks, right?
