Got to love the Digital World! How else could you get a picture right into your den of a hanging gas cap.

There's no end to this madness is there?

Only thing I do not like about my truck is the electric transfer case, I am a firm believer that it should be a manual transfer case, with manual locking hubs for real longterm reliability.

What about the rear view mirror? In my opinion its way to low, meaning its at the center ( practically ) of the windshield. When compared to 01-04 tacos.

Yea, I agree with the rear view being too low, but maybe its because im pretty tall almost 6' 2". Few more things on my tacoma wish list:

    Heres my overall list:

    -Manual Transfer Case
    -Manual Locking Hubs
    -Fully boxed Frame
    -Heated Mirrors
    -Heated Seats

But..I love my truck. That said, if they started to sell the diesel Hilux here in the states, I would buy one no questions asked.

Wow. It looks like it was designed to hang that way.:D I wondered why the hanger was bent like that.

There are two pivots on the mirror. Adjust the one on the windshield and it will raise the mirror a lot.

Rotate it 180 degrees. You'll gain a little bit of sightline. Because of my tinted back window I don't have a need for Day/Night mode.

Ok, this might sound stupid but which way do you rotate it? Clockwise or counterwise?

I believe Toyota had no choice to mount the mirror so low. The rear window doesn't start until about 6" below the roof. In order to get a good angle to allow a decent range of view, the mirror needed to be this low. I did the 2nd pivot along with the 'flip' trick and it is almost too high to see anything but approx. 6" above the tailgate.

Not saying that I like it, I'm just saying!

PS...When the Spell check tries to correct BajaTRD it suggests bastard!
But it won't suggest tries when you mistype trys?

Everything I don't particularly care for has already been mentioned; however, I'll chime in with a peeve: Whenever I flip the sunvisor back up to its not-in-use position, an annoying, cheap-sounding, metallic "plink", or is it "ploing", or maybe "boonk" sound is produced as the visor's impact resonates through to the roof's outer sheetmetal. My kids think this is a funny sound effect,,,, I disagree!

Hey gang, it's Friday and we probably don't give a rat's ass about the rest of the work day.....so let's all go out right now, flip our visors, and give this tinny-thump sound effect its official name! Whadiyaasay? :bored:

It can be raised, there is a dual position linkage. push the linkage up to it's second position then move the mirror to the correct angle for this new position.

Edit: Whoops I was a day late and a buck short on this one. :)

Looks like a lot of us share the same "Dislikes" about our Tacomas.

    here are mine:

No locking gas cap lid / Tailgate / glove box.
No under hood light / glove box lite / Cargo light for the box.
No MP3 Input... just about every other Toyota my year had one including the FJ.
    Rear View mirror too low...
    Mudflaps too long.
Heated mirrors for those of us in cold climates (Canada)
Wierd entry, I have to fold myself in half and avoid the Steering wheel... doesn't tilt up high enough somehow.
No hood scoop option for Access cab trucks.

Other than that it's the perfect truck :)

    Garr.

    BTW... Great thread!!
